Delta/AL comes out of hiding and puts a serious beat down on me. Here is the list of awesome damage!

Fuente Fuente Opus X - I think this one has been aged for awhile, it look yummy.
Padron 50 yrs - my oh my I can’t wait to smoke this beauty
La Palina Goldie - had one of these long ago, mmm mmmm
Partagas Serie D Number 2 CC
AF WOAM - in my top 5 cigars!
Viaje Candy Cane - I am going to be careful with this one, the last time I smoked one I was later heaving in my toilet. I will say it was a wonderful cigar before I hurled.
Bolivar Belicosos Finos - great cigar
Padron Family Reserve 44 yrs (torp) - another high quality smoke
Davidoff Nicaragua box press never had
Casa Cuba Flor Fina - going to guess an OR

Al did a fantastic job with the cigars. He hit this out of the park.

Thank you very much!

David

This should be fun.........I will pickup Conan. Here is the catch....I won’t be “sending” Conan anything.

Instead, I will hand deliver them sometime between 20 -24 May when I go out there for a quick business trip.

Thanks David. I wasn't expecting that to get around so quickly after it sat for many months.

I think I'll go back to my original request of anything uncommon that you find interesting.

I'll add to that cigars that back a few years ago were much better than what is sold today. Cigars where the older releases or blends were the sweet spot.

Or... any cigar that fits in this PIB. I'm not really picky or looking for anything specific.

Sheesh! I can’t believe it took me 3 full weeks to hunt and peck but apologies to Stinger and Delta for the tardiness.

So, earlier last month, Delta gifted his turn to me and David immediately picked me up with the caveat that he would be hand delivering the PIB to me. All good. We got together on the 23rd at The Row Bar to do the handoff.

David walks in, hands me two 5-finger bags and declares: “This one is the PIB, this one is, I dunno, extra?” He goes over a couple of the cigars and then pulls out ANOTHER 5-finger bag and says, “Oh, and here’s another one. I think you can figure out who it’s from.” After a few stunned moments, I recognized the handwriting on the bag and realized it was from Delta. “WTF!” I muttered (...well, not the letters, the full phrase...). Sneak attacked! ram27bat

Without further ado, the damages:

PIB from David
A. Fuente Don Carlos 2007 Toro (nh)
La Perla Habana Black Pearl Toro - the legendary cedar sleeve purple foot OR!
Tatuaje TAA 51th (nh)
Cohiba Genios Maduro (cc) - nh but been wanting to try
Montecristo Petit Edmundo (cc) - love these!

The “extra” bag
Camacho Corojo Centros (OR) (nh)
DPG Blue Exquisitos - quality smoke, can’t wait to spark this up
Drew Estate Undercrown Dirty Rat - enjoyed the one I had a couple years ago
Illusiones Fume D’Amour Concepcions (nh)
Tatuaje Verocu No. 3 Corona Larga (nh)

The PIB bag, in and of itself was awesome, the extras made it even mo’ awesome! Thank you so much David!

*****************************************************************************************

The “sneak attack” bag from Delta - all nh and super excited to ash them up!
BLTC Bishop’s Blend Robusto - have had the Corona Larga but not this vitola
Curivari Vintage 550 - been hearing some good things about this brand
HVC La Rosa 520 Small Batch Exclusive - dark and sexy...looks deeeelicious
Padron Family Reserve #44 Torpedo Maduro - wha’ da! Special occasion smoke fo’ sure
Padron 50th Anniversary “The Hammer” Maduro - really? This is one of those unicorns us mere mortals can only dream about!

I seriously never thought I would ever see, let alone have a chance to smoke either of the two Padrons. Al, you are one heck of a generous brother. Somehow “Thank you” is not enough. Your note on the bag and our subsequent e-mail exchange has calmed me down a bit but know this: This aggression will not stand, man.

Some day, when you least expect it, I will get my honor back!

Sorry I've been MIA... I got laid off in May unexpectedly. I took got some side work tearing out and framing apartments and started looking full time. Good thing the economy is decent right now and it happened before the inevitable slowdown. The company has since let go of two more salaried positions and cut all overtime to cut costs. I hope they pull through for the guys that I worked with that are still there...

Fortunately I got a job with great company and started at the beginning of July. After a week of training and a few weeks busting it on the road I have a slow day to catch up at the office and got to thinking it's probably been a couple months since I've logged on here. Good news is I'm as happy now as I've been in 5 years career-wise.

So as requested a more complete list:

Diplomaticos #2 specifically, or other Cubans in a torpedo

Padron - I have only had a few (thanks to DED masters contest) in the 64 Anniversary series and found out they are fantastic. I celebrated my job offer with the 64 "A" in the sampler pack he sent and was one of the best cigars I've ever smoked.

DE LP Series.

(I have absolutely no idea of a list). I can try to work on one but also wouldn’t mind some randoms from a SOTL/BOTL that meet the thread.

Well David's package arrived today. The mail was three hours late I think because the mailman had to get gloves to handle the heat radiating from it. Opening the box up was a joy in itself with the aroma that came out.

Here's the list of an awesome selection:

Diplomaticos #2. My all time fave - and the place I buy from has had them once in the last year and was sold out before I could act.

Bolivar BF - my second fave

Undercrown shade. I've smoked one and really need to revisit as it was very enjoyable.

Illusione 88 - I smoked one of these before I had any idea what good or bad was. I am really looking forward to trying this one to see how different my experience is because I think this will be fantastic based on memory.

LP T52 - NH the T52 and the smaller ring gauge (I believe pc) is where I'm heading with what I like.

Padron 1964 - NH the natural. Looking forward to this one its in the smaller size as well.

Tatuaje TAA special addition. This is the TAA with the San Andres wrapper. I guess maybe a TAM? I've never heard of it and am very interested to see how it smokes. It may change my opinion of tats...

This selection is absolutely mind blowing. I will be reserving all of these for a special night when I can sit down and thoroughly enjoy. Thanks for the pick up David.

Oh one more thing on the TAA - It has 51th instead of 51st. Was this done on as a joke? The picture on the label is different and america is covered with mexico to dictate to special addition I see but don't understand 51th.
