Is ZIPPO BUTANE any good?

* is it the same as Ronson?

The ZIPPO I got was 5.82 oz. Or 165 gms
Only $3.25!!
A pretty decent size..
NO cLaIMS of double, triple or quad refined on the ZIPPO can.

Wally world Robson is now $ 3.00++
& only 2.78 oz Or 78 gms...

I filled my low end QUAD ROCKWELL THAT EATS FUEL LIKE A MO-FO...
IT WORKS FINE IN THAT...

Now I'm loading a new Moretti quad...
THE BEST LIGHTER ON THE MARKET...
BAR NONE...from Cbid...
I hope it works well...

I usually buy Lucienne quadruple refined from England...
butTtT I'm all oUt..---..-...-......----

And I'm a cheap STUBBORN RELENTLESS prick...when staying alive is on the daily menu roster..
^^-^^---...^^^Just ask any low life FELON CRIMINAL PRICK FBI-SSG DIVISION AGENT SCUMBAG MURDERER OR MURDERESS...
* they will agree in spades...
BWUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Zippo butane is water. Xikar is better.

The rockwell lighter is even worse. Cheap crap. I threw mine away after it didn't perform like it should. Very choppy flames and uneven light. Just plain messy. Upgraded to all Xikar and Colibri lighters.

I've had the best luck with Vector butane.

I've tried King, xikar and Zippo. Vector same price but has served me better

Not hash, it's called BHO.

Hash is more of a manual screening and pressing.

Butane extractions are a different beast

Yes, Rockwell is garbage.

I really love the Xikar Tech double-jet. That's my "desert island lighter". I could be very happy with JUST that lighter, forever. I now recommend it to new cigar guys and everyone else, over all other lighters.

* Lifetime unconditional forever warranty

* Enormous high-capacity tank

* Entire tank is transparent for easy, instant, unambiguous level checks

* Easy to get tank 99%+ full (bleed fully, fill to 80%, bleed some more, fill to 99%+)

* Two jets are a great all-around power level

* Because they're in-line, they're good for wavy burn line touch-ups.

* The gunmetal finish is really nice.

* The "scary site" sometimes has them for $24 with freeship and that's before discount promo codes are applied, so with a 20% off code you can get 'em down as low as about $19.20 or so with free shipping!

#5 & #7...

I beg to "differ" about Rockwell lighters....
You can get them here on cbid and at C.I. as freebies on bundle purchases....
I am always losing or misplacing all my lighters...
ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME....
WHEN SEASONS CHANGE ....I REFIND THEM IN MY JACKET OR COAT POCKETS...SOME I LOSE OUTRIGHT...
I NEVER CARE ABOUT LOSING A ROCKWELL...

THE single flame Rockwells are par at best...
The QUAD Rockwell are decent but the bottom fly wheels
allways fall off somewhere...when you find them you think ..." What the fuuuuuk is this thing ..." And chuck it in the trash...then you find the lighter and the bottom is missing...
In well...I get Rockwell singles on here for free or $2-3? bucks
I get the rockwell quads for $2-4?
You can't buy scriptos or bic lighters for that price and they are light years better than scripto or BIC...

NOW FOR "MORETTI QUAD" LIGHTERS....
AGAIN...
THEY ARE THE B.E.S.T. LIGHTERS ON THE MARKET FOR
PRICE, QUALITY, DEPENDABILITY, NEVER BREAK, ALWAYS WORK, and I used to get them,on cbid for $3-4 bucks all day and all year long...2005-2012-13???
Not anymore...too many R.I.C.H. MILLENIALS bid them up on cbid to $6-8-or 9 bucks each now...

I will try the xikar double...I may even have one already...
I have boxes from old orders of tons of "merch" I haven't opened or used yet...couldn't pass up on a great deal back in the "golden era of cbid auctions"...
Prolly have 25 + unopened- unused lighters...mostly cheapies though...3 tabletops and at least 8-10 MORETTI quads.

$19.xx for something that lasts the rest of your life (instant new replacements for any reason, forever), and certainly doesn't disappoint (I have 4 of them, no problems so far!). Superior capacity, superior fuel viewing and two flames not one.

That's the better deal, IMO!

However, it's hard to argue with a reliable $3 single torch that lasts 5+ years. It's an excellent option too.

It is not! That's a point in favor of the low-rent, cheapskate, government cheese $3 Ronson lighter!

However, losing the Ronson can cause it to last signficantly less than the 5-year benchmark. So, not as big an advantage after all.

Choose wisely, gentlemen!

Just to make things more complicated, there's also a Xikar Tech single-jet version that's great too, and may be preferred by some. When compared to the double-jet it uses butane at half the rate so the tank lasts twice as long, and it has a bit more precision and costs considerably less too. Has the same "giant tank", "easy instant fuel level visibility" and "easy to fill to 99%+ capacity" advantages as its double-jet brother.

I have the single flame Tech and love it! Like you said, big, easy to see tank and the Xikar lifetime warranty. With that being said, I use the Tech mainly for touch-ups and relights and prefer a triple flame Jetlite for initial lighting.

Xikar triple refined works best with torch lighters. It’s a little pricey, but I buy the 400ml can. It last’s a long time and your lighters will light every time. 💡

They make a triple-jet Tech too. They're available in 1, 2, 3 and 4 jet versions. I often use a triple for main lights and a single for touch-ups. They're easy to tell apart as the number of vent hole rows on the sides equals the number of jets inside.

As for gas, can't beat the new Xikar black can stuff. Same price as the Xikar silver can ($9.99 for a big 400ml can) but way better. Higher flames... I'm talking VERY noticeably higher, it ain't subtle... at the same wheel setting and it also seems to have a cleaning effect, as none of my lighters have ever clogged up once I switched them to it, plus it often brings old lighters back from the dead. I tested all this and can confirm. Very happy to have some old dead lighter friends alive and working again!

Let us not forget the Richard Overton (may he rest in peace!) method as seen in the YouTube video about him, which is to use natural gas in the world's largest cigar lighter, your kitchen stove's range top!

(If you haven't seen it, go watch it. The guy lived to 112.6 years old and smoked about 400,000 cigars over the course of 90 years... and died of old age, not cancer).

I've used Ronson and Zippo and they seem to work equally well. I've also used Xikar and Bugatti, and they also work well.
There doesn't seem to be a huge differnce really, as long as you get a good purge on your lighter before you refill it with fresh fuel.

Still really like that Alec Bradley table lighter. If you have junk butane laying around it’ll burn anything. Plus it’s big enough I don’t pocket it and walk away. Keep it on the bench. If a softer flame doesn’t put you off I’d recommend it. I’ll buy another when this thing quits
