what am I doing wrong when the auction says there are 6 hrs left, and every time I bid I'm being told that I am currently being out bid?

Someone who has already bid has put in a maximum bid higher than you bid, so that person's higher bid beats yours

Just set your Max Bid amount at $1,000.00 for anything you bid on, and go to sleep knowing you're a winner!

THAT'S how it's done!

and, to answer you're question...

What you're doing wrong is LOSING A BID!

NEVER LOSE A BID!

The guy obviously has his max bid set higher than any of your subsequent bids, so every time you bid higher,
it defaults one increment above your bid based on his max bid amount.

Basically, the guy is trying to own you. You NEVER wanna let that happen. If you do, in the future, anytime he sees your bid, he's gonna whip your azz like a little biotch. He's trying to emasculate you, which seems all too common with the fucquers around here. So, you keep bidding higher until you pass his max bid, at which point you will be shown as the current winner. He will react, or he may not, depending on his strategy. Trust me when I say, he is watching and waiting. What you gotta do, is keep bidding until you are the top dog. AND STAY THERE, WHATEVER IT TAKES. And know that he is waiting to topple you. So 30 seconds before the auction ends, increase your max bid to an astronomical figure, cause you can be assured that he is gonna challenge you. Doesn't matter if you end up at triple MSRP or beyond, you have won and retained your manhood. And more importantly, HE IS NOW YOUR BIOTCH. Don't worry about the money, you are now in control, and you will begin winning just about all your auctions, and at favorable prices. The initial investment will more than pay itself off in the long run. And more importantly, the people on board will know that you are not to be messed with!

How do you think guys like KingoftheCove got to the top???

NEVER LOSE A BID!!! Shame on you

If you’re in your “acquisition” phase, just remember that there’ll be another auction and you can try to get them at “your” price later.

Your best bet is to follow the DPNewell Rules of Bidding (...long out-of-print...). Herfing

It’s all of those rich guys taunting us. Money means nothing to them. They read the threads here and laugh. It is sick. They light their cigars with $100 bills.

Listen up, roachlamp. My first day on CBID, I threw down a $1,000 bid on a fiver of Gurkha Park Avenues. Why?!? Because you gotta let these other bidders know that you’re a crazy mother fletcher that's not to be messed with.

Read Sun-tzu, The Art of War. Every battle is won before it is ever fought. I know what the outcome will be on every single auction that I bid because I play to win.

My advice to you is to find the worst piece of crap 15 lot auction currently available on CBID, and take the whole thing down, no mercy style. Max bid everything and let the credit card company sort ‘em out. The most important thing right now is for you to regain your manhood and show these other bidders that you’re not a mark.

Welcome and good luck.

So, I'm a newbie at this as well.

What happens if two people make a maximum bid of $1,000.00?

I would advise you to proceed with caution in this scenario. In the end...there can be only one.

The person who puts that $1,000 bid in FIRST, will be the winner.......and that would be

Thanks for the responses.

They really didn't help much, but thanks nonetheless.

I think I'm going to like it here.

Cheers.

First of all Mighty One, my answer was solid...........in the event of a tie, first bid in wins.

Secondly, if you were even remotely Mighty, you wouldn’t be concerned about possible ties in bidding, because you would win anything you bid on.........................like I do.

Mighty!.....pffft....

Go stand in the corner and smoke a Gurkha overrun.
