Yes, that is both an REM reference and an Andy Kaufmann reference. He had an Elvis routine that was hilarious, he referred to it as goofing on Elvis. It was very satirical.

Lit up a Gurkha the other day to keep the bugs away from me while I was working in the garden, worked great! Even they can’t stand them.
