Trump said he'd take information from a foreign government that would hurt a political opponent and help his election.

I voted for Russia, before I voted against Russia.....

Listening = BAD

Paying for made up info from a foreign agent and using other foreign intelligence agencies while working IN THE GOVERNMENT = OK

It's OK when we do it to other countries, but not for any other country to do it to us.

He talks with a thousand qualifiers on purpose to rile the far left up.

He WANTS the left to obsess with impeachment.

Lay back and enjoy 2020

doubt it was on purpose. but it is comforting to know he is playing games with America...

“You’re a congressman, someone comes up and says, ‘I have information on your opponent,’ do you call the FBI?” Trump asked.

“If it’s coming from Russia, you do,” Stephanopoulos said, pointing out that Al Gore’s campaign contacted the FBI when it received a stolen briefing book in 2000 and that the FBI director said recently that the agency should have been notified when the Trump campaign received an offer of information on Clinton.

“The FBI director is wrong,” Trump said.

Stephanopoulos. I know his personal politics, but he's hardly vicious.
Watch it. Didn't seem that Trump felt threatened. Maybe as calm as he's ever been.
and none of the qualifiers you mentioned.

Believe me, I'm not losing my mind over this, but I am shaking my head.
The apology parade is crazier than asking for Presidential comportment.

if I were to guess at what Trump thinks he is doing cleverly, it would be that he is already worried about charges after he leaves office, which could be 2 or 6 years...both for himself and his stable genius son.

doubt Trump apologizes for those statements...he seems to truly believe that it is legal to get info from a foreign govt that might affect a US election...he says everybody in Congress does it...

that's not Trump's rationale...he knows he got Russian help to win the 2016 election (Russia, if you're listening)...

to keep his conscience clear, he wants everyone to believe there was nothing wrong with that...

I did miss one "qualifier" from a different point in the conversation..."oppo info" or something equally baffling if he pulled it out in court.
says that's what it's called when Russia or China (though he deflected it to Norway) calls with dirt during a campaign.

I really don’t think he knows or thinks it’s wrong. From that filter it explains a his actions.

His real mantra should be collusion isn’t wrong.

Trump responds to a hypothetical and the outrage is deafening.

Clinton actually paid for a foreign dosier on her opponent and the silence was deafening.

Does anyone believe that ANY politician wouldn't review and digest any ill-gotten foreign intel prior to handing it over to the FBI?

So now we've stooped so low as to denounce Trump for telling the truth.

This is indeed stranger than fiction.

here's an example of one way you set an inaccurate opposing view to debunk.
he is not being denounced for telling the truth, it's for the meaning of what he says he believes.

more important than reactions to him by others is to focus on your reaction to what he said.

Should we assume you think what he says he would do next time is fine and acceptable?
That's what is being asked here.

There's a lot of bipartisan negative reaction from people who could be put in the same position as the President as they recognize the negative of his truth. You think they are wrong?

You're ignoring reality.

He wasn't asked what he SHOULD do. He was asked what he would probably do. And he might be the only sitting POTUS ever to have the balls to say it like it is.

Note: I'm speaking about this subject only. Do not extrapolate further.

This is very black and white. I've created no side narratives, as you suggest. I know the haters aren't mad because he told the truth. They're mad because (pardon the expression) they can't handle the truth.
They would prefer if he lied.
Which shouldn't even be a surprise, considering who we've elected year after year.
