I had a black dog named depression... A great video from the world health organization... If you or someone you love is struggling, talk to someone, talk to anyone...

Are you actually trying to help, or just being dismissive?
I can’t get the link on my phone...

That’s cool. You all are cool, as far as I can see.
Just wanna help a brother who needs it. Not sure calling him out on the forum is the best way...

I understand.. I'm curious too but...

When your day is long
And the night
The night is yours alone
When you're sure you've had enough
Of this life
Well hang on
Don't let yourself go
'Cause everybody cries
And everybody hurts sometimes....

Opel would not joke about this. He is one of the good guys. It is a real video, it is well done. Just Google a black dog named depression. The video comes up.

Izon - not sure why the link wouldn't work... As spey said, Google it, it'll come up...

In my opinion, the black dog video is probably more important for people who don't have depression than it is for people who do... Not everyone has depression but everyone knows someone who does, whether they know it or not...

The misconceptions people have about depression - both by those who have it and society as a whole - are a large driving force behind the continued increases in suicides, drug use, and a plethora of issues the majority of us would like to see reduced...

My apologies Opie. It's my damn phone. No link. Can't copy paste. F'n Apple.

Watched on my laptop just now. Very true. For anyone that experiences it, there is help. Just don't keep it inside.
Reminds me of a friend's parents when I was younger. The dad was a great humorous guy, but he was prone to periods of depression. His wife would always say "He's just feeling sorry for himself again. He always does that". That kind of thinking only leads to further isolation

Marcus set me straight on this back in the day. It's not Apple it's the mobile site. You've got to change to desktop view to be able to copy and paste

After seeing this I had to chime in.

Due to my location and the lack of things around here when I was in that kind of situation it was here that all the awesome B&SOTL that helped me through it. I had felt, I guess the word would be alone, and that seriously adds to the downward spiral of such. Not having any friends that come to visit and because I can not drive and such I was at a serious loss. People here showing their concern and care made me realize I was not alone. Along the way I made friends that filled the spot of all my other friends that are no longer here and are now out living their own lives elsewhere. I had been in that rut for over 5 years due to health and stroke issues. So with that said I would like to say this.

THANK YOU Guys and Gals. Everyday is still a struggle but, You all still call and check in on me, You all gave me a reason to start getting back into hobbies and goals, You all gave me the drive to start really digging and looking hard to find the places I needed to get the help I could not find to start with. You all made me see I am not alone! I mean seriously if the truth be told I was at the point of giving up when I first came here. If it was not for you all and you know who you are, I would have quit on trying.

So again ladies and gents, I honestly feel that you all have gave me many reasons to keep up the fight, more importantly the desire to keep up the fight and that in my mind was and is a life saver in my book. THANK YOU ALL!

Best Regards,
Chris Q.
