They’re giving you the illusion that they’re aged. Don’t drink the coolaid

To answer your question, unlike the last two jackalopes, yes. Brown cello usually occurs as cigars age. But, it can also mean that at some point they got wet or over humidified somehow and then dried out. Can also occur if they are stored in a place where a lot of cigar smoke is constantly in the air but if that's the case it takes time to build up and you'll notice a slight stickiness on the outside of the cello. Welcome to the zoo, be careful, the monkeys throw their crap at everyone around here.

I hear ya. But if you get a fresh order with brown cellos, somethin’s funky. And that funk is probably fecal matter

The factory found 8 cases of cello wrappers from 2011.
No sense throwing them away....

Probably some of the spray on dye to give the cigars some color got rubbed off on the cello.

There's actually one cigar maker out there who has recently switched to a yellowish-brown colored cello on a few of their blends... For realsies...

How'd you guess???

For realsies... Smoked a gurka a couple weeks ago... It was actually not bad at all...

BUT the blend has already changed... Tracked them down at a local b&m, had a box of old Toro's and new robusto's... toro's were dark, oily, rich in flavor... Didn't try the robusto, but the wrapper looked like a Dutch master... Didn't even look like a leaf, looked like tobacco pulp...

But the cello on both? Brownish yellow, almost seemingly from age... But once you take it off, the cello is uniform in color, even on the foot flap...

To deal with the cello on or off question I decided long ago to cut that foot flap off before they go into a box. Has worked well for me. Can be a pain though when you get a box...

In trying to extrapolate the RH of the average rectum (hereafter referred to Organic Undersized Chitty Humidor, or OUCH) there are a number of factors to consider:

* The average OH is most likely well-seasoned. But is it getting oversaturated and therefore, over-seasoned?

* One must also factor in the age of the OH. Is it still holding its seal?

* Finally, one might wish to consider how often the OH is being opened, and for how long.

All of these can have a significant impact on RH of an OH.

Oh. And prunes might, as well.

But seriously, if i get an order with brown cellos im just wondering if i need to age them with my others or just a week or 2 to let them acclimate to their new environment and then start enjoying. I mean, takes alot of the work out of it already doesnt it?
