Im new to the forum and still kind of new to the cigar world. Recently ive been on a mission searching for the perfect cheap yet good everyday smoke. Now i have develloped from the lighter body into more of a medium to full body fan.and ive gone from 3 50 count humis to a small cabinett with a smaller display on top of that and also a larger glass top for my everyday smokes. Short of a large cabinet or coolerdor i have run out of space.(a nice position to be in).
I have found some that i really like on the cheaper side (thanks to cbid) but was wondering what everyone else likes that doesnt break the bank.
And i appoligize for being so long winded 😆

Hello, and welcome to the asylum....there are thousands of cigar brands out there, what are you smoking now that you enjoy...that way we can suggest similar profiles for you to try. I personally store my cigars in 150 qt. coolers, and move 20-30 cigars into my desktop humidor that I smoke from, and reload it as needed. Everyone has a different approach.

Be patient and I'm sure you will have all the answers you want, and one or two you won't want....lot of great knowledgeable folks here. Head over to the N00B Pib and introduce yourself and make a few trades and you'll get a good idea of what people are smoking.

There are some questions folks here will ask you to answer, but the most important one, in my opinion is,,,Ginger or MaryAnn? Anxious
Have fun

Yes I've heard of vanhalen. As a drummer of 33 yrs and one of the few people ive known to succesfully pull of hot for teacher in a rockabilly band i was in a few years ago, i know a thing or two about vanhalen. But as of the past 8 mos or so ive had alot of family issues going on so its been work, home, shower, cigar, bed.rince and repeat.as i am a master of a few things that are passions of mine,i havent been really thinkin about them as of late. Like my drag car for example. Goin on a year now on jack stands when a simple fix is all thats needed. But i lost interest somehow. Cant get my head back in the game.so now i smoke cigars staring at it.if i look at it hard enough it will fix itself right? 😆

OK - first, just let go of the family issues. You don’t need that in your life. And they’re gonna figure it out eventually. Or not. Not your problem anymore. Remember? You just let go of it. Next, fix up that pansexual unassigned vehicle of yours, and put everything you have into it for one last run. Enter a race, and push that bich further than you’ve ever pushed it before. Launch that bich along the razors edge between life and death. Extract everything you can out of it at that very moment. Then let it go. That leaves you with your drums, smokes, and us. The way it should be. No bullsheet. And booze, of course, if you so choose. Highly recommended BTW. Now you’re in a place where you can just enjoy life. And you’ll think to yourself, why the F didn’t I do this sooner? You can thank us at any time...

What more could an imp want???

Just resurfacing some cbid history (sorry to take Palama’s job)

Had some budget changes and need to smoke a bit cheaper. Started smoking the Fugazi COTY line and was pleasantly surprised.

danm says the new BDL's are decent...I'm gonna give 'em a try in a month and a half, when the buying hiatus is over...meantime, the La Aurora 1495 are good and $3.50

Only the bdl maduro. Punches well above the $3.50 per. I'd willingly pay $5-6 on sale.

The connie was good, but just an average connie and for the price might as well not take chances and get the Oliva.

But you know, like a lot of small/new guys the first run of these things can be great and subsequent production runs stink.

Some in the fugazi line surprised the hell outta me. Some were typical seconds/knockoffs

Bdl maduro were good lots of caramel/toffee flavor
BDL connie was a standard mild ct
BDL Habano wasn't great. Cardboard and pretzels.

Penn standard gold standard were good

Penn Standard broadleaf were good

Last of my kind tasted like hoppes #9 but it was also rott. Got some resting naked I don't think that was an intended flavor. It has promise, I just think it needs to breathe a bit.

Hoofty was the strangest cigar I can remember smoking. Predominant citrus flavors. And a fresh baked cookie flavor. It was really really weird. I actually returned the 10 pack after smoking the single. It wasn't a bad cigar, just so far removed from anything I like in a cigar that I couldn't see myself smoking more. And being a cheap bundle cigar I don't want to bomb those out. My father in law gets my rejects but that place lets you return unopened stuff so I sent it back.

I have some Megillas that just came today too. Reviews on the Megilla are all over the place (as are a lot of raypage stuff, I suspect it's due to the "cello")

Beware with the Raymond Pages cigars. The cello feels different and it melts doesn't burn like cello should - I think it's plastic. So all my pages stuff is now naked. If it is plastic, they're not gonna acclimate in your humidor. You get what you get buying cheap stuff.

Oliva is a very safe bet for cheap good cigars.

The majority of what I smoke I buy for $5 or less. I think maybe $4 or less even. I'm no reviewer but I post my thoughts with what I smoke in the whatchu smokin thread. I'll start noting my price paid (minus excise tax which usually almost doubles the price)

Drew Estate Factory Smokes you can get them as low as $1.25 a piece when u but a bundle online with a good deal. They are very popular mixed filler/budget cigars.
DE MUWAT KFC cigarillos you can get a brick of 50 (5 tins of 10) for about $40 online even less with a deal.
All the Villiger export varities are good and cheap and the best part of them is that they are dry cured tobacco and do not require humidification.

Now that I have 200 posts up let me draw from my considerable and extensive experience…I don’t know what you consider cheap but the La Gloria Cubana Serie R won’t knock your head off and it is good bang for my bucks. Also, Rocky Patel vintage 1990 (seconds) petite perfecto is a terrific 35 minute smoke that is full body but not full strength and also good price point in my very valuable and often underrated opinion. 😂😎

I know the fugazi are all the rage, but the original Class34 is a really good smoke, too. Wasn't sure he knew about those. I always have a bundle of the no.9 available. To me, they are like a cross between a well aged Padron X000 maduro and a Camacho triple maduro.
