Well, I get that Drew Estates gets beat pretty heavily around here.

And, I have have some great cigars courtesy of the vet's here and the information gleaned from reading the forums.

However, I have to say it.

I truly do love the Natural (Larutan) Dirt Torpedo. It is an amazingly satisfying cigar. I just finished one headed to the rack, and I felt compelled to share.

These have amazing construction, they burn perfectly, evenly, all the way to the nub. I smoked that bad boy down to 5/8's of an inch. It was getting warm, but by God I got it done. It is a well made cigar, it always has been. I think that is why I keyed on to years ago before I quit smoking the cigs and shied away from cigars to not relapse. But it was the first cigar I ever ordered a box of. Naturally it was right when I quit smoking so I sent it to a unit in the gulf, but hey! Angel

Anyway, when I started smoking cigars again, the first thing I did was order a box. I'm still glad I did.

Now. Having said all that, I now have made up a separate tuppador to keep the infused cigars in by themselves. They are separated from my straight smokes. I owe you guys for that intel as well. So while I'm digging the straight cigars and learning the way, I do still enjoy these.

They are really consistently well constructed smoke and I enjoy them. I have yet to have one that doesn't burn and hold together well. One has to respect that.

Anyway, my two cents. fog

Some of those infused cigars can really carry a heavy dose of odor. To keep all but the most similar-smelling from getting taken over by the strongest-scented cigar in the bunch, isolate them. I learned that from cigar store time. Best solution, I found, was some clear plastic jars with yellow tops you can find in the jungle. Pop a Boveda 68-70% pack in each, then if you have multiple infused smokes, they won't all end up smelling like the alpha male in the bunch. I won't want to share any perfumed cigars with you, but I'm not above enabling your tastes and offer a handy tip borne from experience in selling them. The jars keep things pretty tight, and the Boveda will help keep from over-humidifying. Works very well.

BTW, it's "gets", not "get's". Sorry, I have this thing about spelling. Get's would either be singular possessive (which a verb cannot be), or it would be a contraction, such as "get is", which also makes no sense. It's not you...some day about 12-15 years ago, it seemed like someone had a surplus sale on apostrophes. Same goes for "vet's". Drives me nuts, so I just ask in exchange for the tip indulging your dirt torp, that you indulge my spelling OCD. :)P~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BTW, prepare for abuse. The Dirt is probably the second most aptly-named "Larutan", nee "Natural" of the D.E. smokes. The Nasty is probably the most accurately-named cigar ever. I love D.E.'s line of unflavored, especially the T 52 double corona, but the price of admission is just sky high.

FWIW, the Acid lines of Liquid and Blondie aren't bad. Not heavily soaked. Had an Irish Hops back in the "Natural" days. I had a fiver, couldn't even finish one. Tasted like it had been soaking in Sweet 'n' Low for days. I'm not saying it had been, but I have a sweet tooth, and the artificial-tasting sweetness was over the top for me. Others may disagree. Smoke what you like, of course.

I too enjoy the dirt torpedo, that's what I bought when my kids were born and handed them out. They are very well made and taste great throughout the whole cigar.

Heck, I actually liked the Dirt torpedo too during my noobish days, but hated that they soaked the tip in some saccharine or something. Just kinda spoiled the cigar. Otherwise, I'd have probably bought more.

That is a bit distracting I concur. But overall I still like them.

No, they're basically made with pipe tobacco.

In my opinion, back in the day they used to be good cigars at high prices. Now they're mediocre cigars at very high prices. I'll pass.

Hey Gunner, you mentioned "used magazines" for sale in the subject, but then no mention of them in your post. What kind are they? Some nice STANAG 5.56x45mm ones, or some Glock hi-caps, or what? DON'T BE A TEASE!

Wait, you handed out your kids? They are well made and taste great? And to think that the first thought I had when I read the post was that you probably don't want to tell people making kids involved dirt torpedoes.

Yeah, I tried professional help. It didn't take.

Heh-heh. The "Dirt Torpedo" sounds like a euphemism for a long, straight turd.

Sorry, there used to be a homeless wino at Redondo beach set up with a lawn chair and stack of old mildewy magazines and news papers. His sign said, "Wino Bob, Advice and used magazines for sale"

It's fused into my brain. LOL. My arms room has a one way door. By the time I get rid of a magazine all the good is gone out of it. Beer

He was a character. We would go by, take him some lunch and hang out. The man was sharp. Never did go into how he ended up there. That's just how he rolled.
