Considered rescinding my calloff and going in since my gut's fine now.

But after logging in, acuity on the unit seems manageable with the junior crew on tonight. I'll leave it be.

Use the time instead to finish packing and spend some time with family before I go away for the weekend.

didja use cork as the packing material, danm?

didja look up the official explanation for your absence in the log book?

reminds me of an IBS incident... like you, I was up all night with a bad case of the squirts...decided in the morning getting ready for work that I'd be ok with a double dose of Pepto Bismo...on the way to work, I tried to stifle a big sneeze, only to make it more forceful...that caused some leakage -- I sh*t my pants...

turned around and went home...took a quick shower and put on some clean clothes with a cloth towel for extra protection (didn't have depends), put a towel on the car seat and went in to the office...told my secretary why I was late...she thought it was funny...Pepto Bismo kicked in and I was fine

When I worked in a factory, a coworker told the foreman he had to go home midday for feeling ill. Foreman told him "you look fine to me" which my coworker responded by dropping his pants and showing the foreman that he'd crapped em. Shouted "proofs in the pudding motherfocker" and walked out.

Another heat wave here - sky is greyish from time to time because of smoke from Alaska and Canada's fires. Supposed to rain hard today- nothing since a few sprinkles in the morning.

I love the heat. Give me 85-90 anytime.

But when I did some contract work at the steel mills, in ambient 110-115 temps, that was unbearable. Was also working in standing water, so the air was saturated and sweating did nothing.

Still, I don't know how you can handle that heat regularly.

I think I've only seen 100 flat on the thermometer twice this year, and we're on the downhill side of summer now so not likely to see again. Racing back towards the -40 degree days.

Kid stripped down to jump in the kiddy pool today.

Had a fattened tick on his back.

Puppy dogs didn't have any. All the brush got mowed down last week. They're awful this year.

Lit the burn pile on fire. Only the second time this summer, so it's a biggun.

Went fishing. I did good...

I brought three fishing rods with me and caught fish on each one. Live bait, dropper jig, and surface jig.

Fires already done. Raked the edges back on the pile.

Camper's packed. Moved the cases of buns and buckets of coleslaw out there. Slaw buckets in ice tubs.

Iced up the 6 coolers. Tomorrow morning I'll transfer the meats from the fridges to the coolers. I'm using the 4 coolers I own and two borrowed. Think it's just barely gonna fit. Got some "thermal" bags from grocery store for any overflow. Really will probably be fine if they warm up, will be on the smoker 6 hours from when I leave if there's no issues.

I'm probably well over my camper's weight rating. Got at least 800lbs in here, not including the stuff that lives in the camper for my normal use. Probably gonna move a few coolers to the truck.

I mean.... You could have just pulled the tick off...

But I probably would have chosen the same solution.

Rolling out in 10 minutes.

Got a buddy coming from Chicago leaving at the same time with his bus and car trailer. So if I blow up, at least the food stuff can get to the track and hopefully someone can get it started. Praying I don't need that, but I always want to have a plan B. It's more critical that the food gets there than for me to get there.
