Blantons. 75$! Pass

Sigh...

Good thing you weren’t with us at Roy’s Liquors last year. They were asking $150 for a bottle...and Homer bought one!

Blanton’s at $75 isn’t too far off from what they charge here but for a little bit more (...depends on the dollar-yen exchange rate...), the Straight From The Barrel is a much better value. ‘Coarse, you can’t get it in the States so that kinda fuggs that notion up. Brick wall

The "L" arrived along with some very nice looking hitchhikers.

Thank you Dave!! I'm one step closer to completing the collection.

Never tried Blantons. At that price, I don't think I wanna try it.

Maybe when the doc tells me I got two months to live...

Dude,

$55-60 a bottle here semi-regular. You want one, let me know. We'll get it out. Herfing

LetsRock, thanks for the return smokes. I haven't had any of those yet so I look forward to checking them out. I just bought another bottle and it has a "B". If I remember correctly you need that too. If so I'll let you know when I'm done with the bottle. Thanks again!

Yeah, I won't pay that either. I was on my way to Lake Havasau, AZ for my BIL's surprise birthday. I had figured rather than fly with booze, pick it up there. d'oh!

I get to Vegas, hit a big liquor store, "Hey, you have any Blantons?" "We sure do, come with me!"

We go to the back, there is a big fingerprint lock glass vault, we go in he get's the bourbon, we go to the register.

I grab a bottle of water, he rings it up and says "$243.62 please."

I said, "How much was that water?"

$240 for Blantons. Dude, this isn't Pappy. No, put that back, I settled for some EH Taylor for Tommy. He liked it.

Pricing on bourbon kills me these days. Brick wall

Funny, that's what I bought as well!

I told Ron that apparently Specs had the allocation delivered but seeing that the fugger lives out in BFE he said he wasn't driving a 3 hour round trip lol

diabetes...I'll have a drink or two, on rare and special occasions, but no longer indulge regularly...

I'm afraid I am not able to do this in moderation, so I even avoid moderation...

Hey Spey, I have yet to “weigh in” (ha Frank!) on the weight loss thread, but I’ve been checking on things and it looks like you’re killing it. Way to go brother!

So my friends father in law passed away and my buddy found two bottles of "old Bentley bourbon whiskey" aged 6 years. Bottle in 1972. I can not find anything online about these. He tells that his father in law like finer things. Not sure about this though and why he kept them sealed. Anyone know anything on it?

What I can find is that currently it's bottled by Barton at Sazerac. You might inquire with them, they typically have historians/historical reference.

There were a ton of bourbon brands back in the day. Most went away through the 70's and 80's Some are being resurrected but...........................

If nothing else, it's a a time capsule of bourbon history, and a tie to his FIL.

That is what my Jim Beam is to me, a link to my old CQB partner who is no longer with us. I can't have a Beam without thinking of Chaz. Cigars and bourbon are about friends. They are to me anyway. Smile

That's not a problem, trust me, LMAO!

Between the six coolers of cigars and liquor collection, I got my own room upstairs! I stopped counting bottles at 200!!!

My oldest bottle of ORVW has a plastic screw top, BWAHAHAHA! Luckily I bought up quite a bit before the brown liquor craze hit full force!!!

USNGunner, I spy some Eagle Rare 10yr hiding in the back row center bottom shelf... It looks about as empty as my bottle usually does.

I have not tried the Pappy's, etc., but among the sub $100 bourbons, ER is my hands down favorite. Especially at $32 a bottle.

That is, of course, when you can find it. When one box arrives, it's on ration (one bottle per day per customer) at total wine here... Damn near impossible to get.

The empty decanter front left is the Buffalo Trace decanter. It was in hiatus. Jefferson Oceans was a "ok" for me. Not worth what they're asking for it around here. Not talking

Yep. I like Eagle rare. Don't go crazy for the pappy. The 15 year and the family reserve rye is the best out of the bunch. They're in the Benjamin range. Well, they should be.

Yeah, this whole allocation thing is making me freaking nuts. Shame on you
