The 2020 Corvette came out last night without its camo. It will be awhile before they depreciate to my price point but at a base of $60k they are less than anticipated. I hope they build a roadster.

It looks like another amazing jump for GM.

Some Ford fans are gonna say it's just a GT-40 for (MUCH) less money.

And does it handle well? Lots of these cars go real fast and can't corner for sh*t.

It's a Corvette.

The architecture is there, but it'll be tuned for middle aged golfing white dudes who never track it. I.e. great street handling. But not so great on track without upgrades, then it's superb.

They've always done that balance very well. You can't have both, but they get it right in the middle.

Vettes, at least since the C5, (and maybe the C4 considering the competition in that era) have always done well as a real sports car. Take it to a track day, or take it to a car meet. Does both well. But with stock pickups, an aftermarket suspension setup can turn it into a beast on track.

Body style reminds me of Ferrari.
While fun to drive, Corvettes are difficult to get in and out of.
I would never consider buying one. That said, I couldn't afford one even if I loved it.

I want one someday. Came real close to buying a C6, but decided on a Lotus Elise instead. Had one picked out, got financing lines up and the day before I was gonna head up to Chicago to pick it up my wife told me she was pregnant...

So now I have no sports car.

I don't golf lol. The video says this has 4 programmed set ups. So from cruising to track. Not sure if this makes any suspension adjustments or not. While I'm not a competitive driver my C6 roadster pretty much exceeds my street driving needs.

Shouldn't have said not so great on track.

They do great for trackday/hpde.

But aren't out the box competitive in class for time attack or w2w. But can be very easily without altering pickups.

always liked and wanted a Vette; this one looks great and is a big break from its traditional front engine/rwd...mid-engine cars typically are superior handling/cornering cars...

but not practical at my income level and family circumstances...

maybe in a bit...I need an everyday vehicle that can hold a bicycle and fishing gear, a few bags of groceries and some luggage...can't justify paying insurance premiums for a "fun" car...

The only Corvette you would ever get me in is 68 or 69 Stingray...…...everything after that is just a wannabe Corvette.

BTW I'm not holding my breath but I'd take a 71 Superbird over any Vette ever made.

I think I'd like a C63 AMG.

Having driven my wife's C300, if the entry level MB corners like it's on rails... I imagine that C63 has to be unbelievably nimble.

That's a nice looking ride, but I like the sedans. Speed... handling... and a bit utilitarian.

To me, it doesn't look like a Corvette.

I always thought the defining design element of a Corvette was that the hood appears to be half a car length. This thing looks more Italian than Detroit.
