Nice snag! New cafe is all yours!

Don’t know about the teeth. These days, they try to go in after them before they erupt so that they don’t do damage to the other teeth around them if there’s no room, they’re angled funny, etc.. Our dentist said it actually heals faster that way, too, so I’m hopeful. I’m guessing you’re are already in? My girl did IV sedation, and from what everyone has told me, I’d recommend it. Take a little nap and wake up with a mouthful of gauze and no idea how you got home lol. If you’re really lucky, you’ll be one of the really entertaining types and end up a YouTube sensation. Princess got hers out on the 3rd, and she just yesterday started chewing soft food (versus slurping protein shakes and mashing spaghetti-os against the roof of her mouth with her tongue.) She says the biggest problem right now is that her jaw is still kind of swollen and too sore to open very far. Dry socket is a big scare term, but they put a stitch in each of her inscisions so that’s a lot less of a worry than it would be otherwise. Still being cautious & trying not to do anything clot-dislodging. She was off the hefty pain meds the third day, and now just taking Advil a couple times a day, so that much went fairly quickly. Can’t speak from any personal experience on how they heal up once they’re fully erupted or on older folk, I’m afraid; I still have all four of mine. Just the teeth, mind you. No wisdom lol.
Just curious - why are they only taking three? Won’t it be odd to have one tooth on one side with no counterpart opposite in any direction?

Yup - no straws and no spitting (apparently it creates suction in the mouth that can dislodge the clots,) no carbonated drinks, and no peroxide mouthwash. She gets to drool warm salt water mouth rinse 😂

Feeling better and better about it. My biggest concern is that smoking is verboten as well.

You're correct in that mine have broken through at this point. They're looking at three because the fourth seems to be imbedded in a nerve and removing might cause more suffering than it solves

For the surgery? Won't happen at earliest until I get back from vacation in August

For new cafe? I don't believe that was directed towards me. If it was, I'll have to appoint a general manager. I'd be bad for business

I've seen a lot of things at the beach, never seen a beach squirrel, well I may have but they went by another name!

but treating it with a 500 protocol assigns it to the same old same old bin; it is unique and exists at a higher plane than a typical 500...and there is no "500" in the title...

help, Queenie

Delta makes a fair point; according to the bylaws, in the absence of a 500 designation, a force-restart is non-compulsory.

I’m down with modifying the name of the establishment to reflect a nice summer beach bar atmosphere, however; no harm in a little seasonal re-branding, and it’ll give me an excuse to replace the jukebox selections with my Jimmy Buffet Spotify playlist!

I only asked SOB on the new cafe, because Queenie prompted on the "win" as noted above.

But, she seems to have changed her mind, as is a woman's perogative. I know this, as I'm married and have been told so. Plus, Grandpa Chin has spoken as well, and who am I to question my elders?

So, Angry Sandy Squirrely Bar it is.

And who knew DQB was a parrot head!?

I'll have a 3 finger pour of your best single malt please. Leave the bottle, it's gonna be a long weekend !

something about "Angry Squirrel" strikes a positive chord with me...years ago, while hiking up a hilly trail in Griffith Park, I was confronted by a chunky squirrel...it stood on it's hind legs in the middle of the path, obviously blocking my passage...it looked me square in the eyes, with an angry looking scowl...the only thing I could think of was to break off a piece of granola bar, offering that token so I could continue my hike...guess I'ma sucker for furry animals with bright eyes, bushy tails and whiskers...

For me, that was hijacking my folks bottle of extra dry gin. We depleted their stocks of the good stuff. That was all that was left. And we pounded it. Can’t even smell that chit without needing to hurl...

Mine is Jack Daniels. It involved a 19yr old kid, a hot blond who was a senior, and a 1.75L bottle. Details are sketchy over the course of several hours but culminating in what I call The Blackout of '94.

Hey, I’m all about traditions, but I’m also a fan of growth and change. More than either of those, I’m a big fan of capitalism, and if the customers want to settle into the old digs while a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed margarita-swilling critter sprinkles sand between their toes, then hell...it’s five o’clock somewhere, our liquor license and our license to chill are both up to date - let’s do it!

I’ll take a cheeseburger, please; medium rare with mustard would be nice - maybe some lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57, French fried potatoes, big kosher pickle...and what kind of beer do we have on tap?

Yeah, but my growth has required a change of drawers. And I'm a fan of capitalism, as long as everyone can afford the price of the drinks... Think

I have always felt that it’s bad business to price yourself out of business. You make more money packing the place with reasonable prices, a decent band, and a kickass ladies’ night than you do with elitist pricing and three patrons nursing one overpriced drink all night.

Good evening, gents!
91°F, but feels like 88 with a nice breeze; I can handle that.
Tomorrow is the start of VBS, which means princess will get in some of her senior service hours before school even starts, and I will be enjoying the “quiet-as-a-tomb” while all the kiddos participate. I feel like that should be commemorated somehow...

I absolutely adore patio dining...misting fans are going...outdoor speaker system sounds good...the new shade sail is installed and looking nice...I do believe I need a White Russian on the patio. Skip the Kahlua and use Grind, please. Mmmmmm...

Firing up “Come Monday” on the jukebox...aaaaahhhhhh!

Evenin’ All!

Hope you’re feeling better, Jamie - I was thinking of you today, and hoping you were ok, my friend. Big (((hugs)))), big guy.

Well...I scored a full class set of kick bands for my chairs, two brand new wobble stools, and a fresh coat of paint for my classroom today, AND I slid out of TWO full day staff meetings by having plans to be waaaayyyy out of town; that qualifies as a damn good day, if you ask me!

It’s getting cool now that the sun is finally down, so I’ll take my coffee out on the patio. Putting “Changes in latitude, changes in attitude” on the jukebox to help me work out the last few details on the travel plans.

By the way, did anyone lose a shaker of salt? There’s like, twelve out here...

This is a beach bar - whiskey is on the shelf behind fourteen kinds of rum!

In a sick twist is timing, just when everyone should be starting to set up there classrooms for the fall, I had to go up this weekend and remove all of the remaining things from the walls and from storage over the cabinets so that they could paint my classroom. On the upside, however, my room NEEDS a coat of fresh paint BADLY.
Now hanging with the princess & a needy bun. Storm clouds rolled in, knocked down the temperature and rolled out, so it’s pleasant AND sunny...I think that calls for something frosty, rum-based and fruit-laced with an umbrella in it!
