Who's seen/heard it? What do you think about it? I have a pretty good idea what the majority will say here.

Heard about it.

His job is probably safe. He chose the proper side of the aisle.

Note: and his job SHOULD be safe if it's just political and if it's his first offense.

had to look him up (not lock him up). never heard of him nor from him before today...it appears he is a sports writer/commentator.

since I read and listen to very few individuals paid to specialize in shaping news opinions, I have less interest in a sports guy doing it.

I actually have more interest in the opinions of many of you guys about NEWS.

Seems like those kinda rants are designed as a "look at how much more important my opinion is than yours" type of thing...

Also, how is a rant like that a good career move? Or even a good life choice?

Let's say half your audience agrees with what you shoved down their throat... They were already your audience!!! What are they, more your audience now?

And the other half who didn't agree with your rant probably would've respected your opinion if not stated in rant form... But now you've lost them, probably many of them for good...

And people who didn't watch you but agree with you, they're still not watching you... You're a sports guy...

And people who didn't watch you but don't agree with what you had to say, they're gonna make your life tough, cuz now they watch you - not for your content - but to identify any and all of your mistakes of the past, present, and future...

Rant off...

I liked Opels rant, but I already like his rants. So my opinion remains the same.

You missed that, eh Victor?

Allow me to explain Tail's sarcasm... he is saying that Spey is swinging from Opie's nuts.

Replace the word rants with nuts. Get it?

didn't hear the "rant" but I heard he directly broke company policy

(a policy that was enacted after espn went full politics a couple years ago and ratings fell)

whatever they choose to do with him is of no matter to me

but the best part of it all is after HE broke policy he didn't show up the next day for his job because he said he "wasn't in the right mental state [paraphrase]"

short of a family member dying, I wonder what my work would do if I pulled that excuse?
