Last new thread, I swear.. Liar

So...during my hiatus I have become someone of a cigar elitist/snob. I got to a point that I was so tired of trying so many new and different cigars that I didn't enjoy. I thought to myself, there are a few brands that have never let me down, why don't I say forget the rest and just smoke those brands. So after a few sales to friends and a few bombs that totaled about 150 cigars...I have got myself down to what I like and I'm not looking back. Not to say that I won't smoke a random gifted cigar, but I'm not buying anything else in the near future.

Here is the list:

High end AF/Opus (nothing below the Hemingway series)
DE Liga (preferably OR)
Tatuaje
Illusione
Viaje (the best cigar brand on the market in my opinion)
CC's in general (prefer Monte, RyJ, RA, Punch, LGC, Cohiba just because I am bougie)
Cigars aged more than 12 years
DTT/Saka
Roma is somewhat on the list, but the only one I would probably buy at this point is the Wunderlust
Davidoff is sort of on the list, but I won't pay retail.

I think that is it.

Sounds like Hank is low. I like the subtly. The old Hank wouldn't have posted this.

Nice list. Haven't had any Tats or high end AF yet. (Got some Tat Monster Brides and AF Hemingways chillin in humi waiting)

No Warped or Padron?

Tatuaje is my second favorite. Haven't had a single disappointing one.

Every Padron tastes the same to me. They are okay and I would smoke one if someone gave it to me, but wouldn't buy one, well maybe if it were half priced or something. haha

Warped is one I haven't really gotten in to. I have only had a couple, can't even remember their names, that is how memorable they were. I do have a Moongarden resting though.

Nice list. Mine ended up even shorter:
Top end AFs
DE Liga
Tat
CCs

Life is too short to smoke bad cigars

Amen to that. Although you may want to give Viaje another shot, especially given that you like high AF, Liga and Tats.

Get you some of their Don Reynaldo sticks. Both the Reg and the Deluxe I enjoyed.

What, no Gurks ?

I smoke yard gars because I'm outside working a lot of the time. My good smokes are for extended breaks and relaxation and I don't imagine I'll ever get to the point where I restrict myself to certain makers or cigars. Trying new cigars gets me more yard gars.

Not really elitist you've just found your groove. If you look in my humi you'll see an entire shelf dedicated to Fuente, another split between Tatuaje and LFD,the bottom shelf is mostly habanos(older PC's mostly),the other shelves have some mixed stuff that I like with the exception of the top shelf.........it's mostly troop fodder, anything not in my wheelhouse goes up there. It's well stocked but I haven't added any sticks in years......I found my groove

What are you telling me? That I’m alone?

You're all nuts. I only smoke Gurkhas. Every knows that Kaizad only uses the best tobaccos available.

My final list was down to CC's with at least 7 to 10 years of age on them.
Now I hardly smoke any cigars. Maybe three in the last five years. At least I know what I like now. fog

Tat's
My Father/San Cristobal
Viaje
Fuente
DE
Padron (mostly just the 26 or 64 series the rest are overpriced blah)
La Aurora Ruby only
CC's
and I would add LFD, they've produced quite a few tasty sticks. The older the better.

I smoke at least one cigar everyday, sometimes more than one, and on fewer days skip smoking altogether...it'd be too expensive for my budget to smoke only elitist cigars...besides, I find some other brands not on the list make some very good cigars...Espinosa, Joya de Nicaragua, Fratello and Crowned Heads come to mind, with more "affordable" choices...

I guess I'm saying I'll always try different and lower priced cigars looking for something that suits me...

Yall may think I'm crazy but I recently had 5 diff sticks from Graycliff and I was surprisingly impressed. Especially for the price you can get them for here on cbid.

+1

I’ll add HVC, Isabela and JRE to that.
