This was dinner last night. I finally got this finished and fired up. Long project but worth it.

This weekend I finally figured the right temps out to not flash incinerate the crusts. LOL. The first try was a train wreck.

Did pizzas, then some beer and a good cigar. Great great night.

That wood is storage.
But I don't see anything burning in the oven? How deep does that go? (words I never thought I'd ask a fellow BOTL)

It's about 36" deep, 33 wide internal dimensions. The fire is all the way to the left side this time. Beer

LOL. No, that's a tool for cleaning the ashes off the deck right before loading the pizza.

That is a copper tube to blow the ashes off the deck of the oven before loading the pizzas. The "auger" looking stuff is fancy work braided around the copper to keep the heat from burning my freaking hands off. w:d/

Now Jade, some people have what's called "perversions".
What seems disgusting to you and I is actually a pleasurable experience to them.
They're doing what they like, and they have every right.

It's OK Jadey,
Just look away and don't think about it...

I have helped BUILD SEVERAL CERAMIC KILNS of varying types...wood fired Hill climbing kilns, salt kilns, high fire kilns, soda kilns, glass blowing kilns, rebricked electric kilns...

That's looks very well built.

Kilns take awhile to figure out also...
Take your time and be patient.

Thank you sir. It was a labor of love.

I have never done any masonry before so there was a vertical learning curve. I almost quit when I got to the arch building part of the process. d'oh!

Patience can be tough working with concrete, but it saves redoing 6x7 foot slabs of refractory concrete. :)
