Some good ones here. I almost didn't watch Baby Driver...didn't really get it, but on about the third try, yeah. The engine sounds and video should get about every Foley Artist in Hollywood fired any more. I was watching some TV show the other night when a car pulling out of a gravel parking lot, slowly enough to not spin up any free rock, shifted gears four times and sounded like a V-8 from the 70's (the car in question was powered by a particularly feeble 4 banger). The car noise/visual matching is laughable any more. TV and movies.
As for editing Bullitt, sure, but some of the driving was still insane (and I'm probably being sentimental here). And yeah, the green bug. Four times. Still, those are two badass cars I love, and SF streets scare the dickens out of me (and that's saying something...some Seattle hills and roads are harrowing, too...and some mountain roads around here should post signs with the suicide hotline, as you've got to be a little bonkers to drive them).
I watched the first Fast & Furious. I'm sorry, but I cannot watch a movie with a plot that is shorter than the movie title.
60 Seconds...mixed feelings. Terrible movie, but some primo cars and some good chases. WTH is with Jolie's bleached dreads? I mean, that kills half the movie right there.
Still haven't gotten around to seeing Death Proof. I keep waiting to watch it with its companion movie, but I always have more pressing stuff going on. Sounds like I should move it up the queue.
To Live and Die in L.A. Damn, I'd forgotten that one. Outstanding, armrest-gripping chase.
T2...pretty much any scene with a motorcycle in it qualifies, IMO.
Fury Road was totally lost on me. Plot is barely there, maybe 20 minutes of dialogue the entire movie, and the whole thing seemed like a YUGE waste of film. I forced myself to watch it once, but I cannot even stand five minutes of it on another go-round. Second Mad Max movie had this batshiat 20 minute chase that the franchise will never top.
One of the Bourne movies was featured in the Watch Mojo clip. The vintage Mini was fun...they killed 5 of the 6 they had for the movie during filming.
