yup, they appealed a decision in Federal Appeals Court and lost.

The appeal claimed that it's obligation, by a 1997 law, "to detain children in safe and sanitary conditions doesn't necessarily entail providing them with soap, towels, showers, dry clothing or toothbrushes". Seriously?

forget everything else surrounding the existence of these detained children, this is not about how they came to be...
but how to define sanitary conditions should be widely accepted.

Also questioned in Trump's attempt to rewrite the 1977 "agreement regarding the treatment of children in immigration detention" in addition to personal hygiene items was "proper sleeping conditions, reasonably comfortable temperatures, and adequate food and drinking water".

Many will divert this no-brainer into a discussion blaming the parents for getting the kids into this. Been done to the tune of a zillion words here. I'm just talking about the reality that has resulted. I knew nothing of the court decision nor appeal, encouraged by the decision being upheld, and disgusted by those questioning the definition of basic sanitation for children in the first place.

It's Trump, he demonises illegal aliens. His base eats it up. He clearly has no compassion and very little if any humanity. They are children for God's sake. They deserve compassion and help. They are God's children. How could anyone not understand this and agree with Trump? I am not sure that anyone here would agree with Trump, but if they do they talk the talk, but don't walk the walk of their respective religions. My apologies to the Atheists here.

I think the number of children is the issue... are we supposed to keep clothing and stuff for 100,000 kids a month stored somewhere..?? Huh

You just don't get it. Do you? I suppose I shouldn't even ask. You never do.

wouldn't require storage...just someone with a heart who knows how to fill out a purchase order...funds are there...

this is the face of the Trump Administration's plan to deter immigration from day one; a plan former AG Jeff Sessions alluded to when he spoke of how they were going to pull kids from their immigrant parents to deter others from coming; Make America Hate Again...

quick look didn't help a lot but it sounds like the issue is not with the non-profits/churches/foster homes but with detention centers run by the CBP.

also interesting and worth verifying (I did not) are reports that donations by the public are rejected as the CBP says they are not low on these supplies.

And how did the last funding bill in Congress go?

just a guess, but might have been turned down cuz of the idiotic wall add on?
but donors have been rejected so it appears money is not the issue at all.

Add that CBP says they have plenty of supplies, and Trump Team did not say they were strapped, but rather tried a wording technicality to get out of supplying what everyone with a functioning brain defines as sanitary supplies.

Perhaps the conspiracy (j/k) theory should focus on discovering Trump's real motivation since funds appear to be a non-issue.
