Any time Scaramucci is in the news, its entertaining. The guy's got a big mouth, but he isn't stupid. I'm guessing that he's got more than a couple bigger GOP names willing to come out against Trump....they could change their minds, but it could get fun for a while

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/457923-scaramucci-assembling-team-of-former-cabinet-members-to-speak-out

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said on Monday that he’s assembling a team of former Cabinet members to speak out against President Trump in an effort to find a Republican challenger to the president in 2020.

“I'm in the process of putting together a team of people that feel the exact same way that I do. This is not a ‘Never Trump’ situation, this is not just screeching rhetoric. This is, 'OK, the guy's unstable, everyone inside knows it, everyone outside knows it, let’s see if we can find a viable alternative,'” Scaramucci said Monday on CNN’s “New Day.”

“Moreover, I’ve got to get some of these former Cabinet officials in unity to speak up about it.”

Scaramucci would not reveal names of former officials that he said feel that Trump is unstable. But he said he expects more to come out publicly in upcoming months.

“I predict in middle or late fall there will be a trove of people that will come together in unity to say this is what’s going on. This is how the person’s acting. This is why there’s nobody inside the White House he’s taking any advice from,” Scaramucci said.

He also did not disclose names of possible candidates he’s looking to back along with the team he’s looking to assemble.

“I don’t think it’s fair to those people,” he said.

Around the same time Scaramucci spoke on CNN, Trump renewed an attack on his former staffer. He tweeted that Scaramucci is a “nut job” that he “barely knew.”

“He was a mental wreck. We didn’t want him around. Now Fake News puts him on like he was my buddy!" Trump tweeted.

Trump also tweeted that there is "great cohesion" inside the Republican Party.

Scaramucci had long defended Trump but in recent weeks has spoken out against the president’s rhetoric and actions.

Trump has drawn one official Republican primary challenger so far, former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld.

Weld previously appeared on the Libertarian Party presidential ticket with former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson in 2016.

Former GOP Rep. Mark Sanford (S.C.) has also said he is weighing a possible challenge against Trump.

saw this recently...who knows?

but why would Trump even say he selected a person who is a "nut job that he barely knew"?
not exactly a confidence boost in assessing Trump's capabilities and decision making....

Good, apparently fair, (but long) bio of Weld.

Weld isn't on my radar yet...but as the only declared GOP opponent to Trump, I'll try to remember to keep an eye out for him.

I don't know what Mooch is up to.....or if he will get anyone to come out publicly, but that's something else I'll be looking for.

I tried to make myself a list of big name conservatives who I think might be willing to get behind a challenger....but have only come up with about 14 names....makes me a bit sad... I think there will be others....but maybe not many unless Trump does something exceeding stupid...by Trump standards.....and while I think it is possible...he's done a good job of keeping it just in the realm of Trump-stupid and not over the top or criminal

Weld is a gun grabbing flip flopper.

Scaramucci is an idiot and has always been an idiot, anyone ever watch an interview with him? He’s like a slap stick spoof of a coked Gordon Gecko midget.......

I think I heard somewhere that only the best people would be hired by trump.

so this scaramucci person must either be the best, or was never hired by trump....

He did. He's waaay smarter than the Johnson and not nearly as high. I voted for him to be VP last time, will definitely vote for him in Primary.

Still sad we didn't get the Johnson. I wanted the Johnson.

He'll have to wrestle the self appointed trophy away from Dukakis.

Dukakis is still smarter...forget politics, he is the brainiest of all. and very real.

Weld was Gov of MA. Sometimes we vote in moderate GOP people for that role...though tail might say Weld is in antifa or sumptin.
Later ran for Senator from NY iirc.

actually is a smart guy, comes across a bit smug and is from the entitled class, but despite always looking for advancement a la Romney, he seemed sincere in his beliefs.
Teachers weren't crazy about him here but I don't recall the reasons.
