It knocked my Rick in the dirt over the past week. Body aches, chills, sweats, fever, sore throat and headache.
My Doc said he started to see positive test for the flu last week. Normally I wait until October😩
The buzzards were flying over my house I can tell you🤕

We got it last year even tho we got the flu shots. Took a couple of days to subside but we were somewhat sick for a week or so afterward. Theraflu helps.

I did get my flu shot and was still sick as a dog. Last week was a nightmare and I'm still getting over it. Buy ammo and stockpile food because this may be the big one. The Zombie Apocalypse may be upon us. If we're lucky this may wipe out every SJW on the planet. Everyone know's those pasty ****'s have weak constitutions. Only a matter of time before they start eating eachother.

ROTFLMAO!

Yeah, the flu shots are like russian roulette. Might help, might make you sick, might kill you. Who knows? That's why they call it "practicing" medicine. I wish they would get it right once and for all. Frying pan

Thanks for the reminder, getting mine next week. Haven't had a bad reaction to one yet. Lucky so far.

The flu shot will never get your sick from the flu. This is a myth.

Yes. If the needle is dirty, or the site of injection is not cleaned properly, or the material is manufactured improperly.

No, no it isn't.

Every year in the Navy I got a Flu shot, every year I got sick. And I wasn't the only one. After I retired I refused to get the damn things for that very reason. My sister, the smarter than everyone nurse said the same thing you just did. I told her she was wrong too and I wasn't getting the damned things. I didn't, and never did get the flu nor the fever and chills thing.

But, when the grand-kids moved in with us and the whole grade school petri dish incubator parallel thing occurred to me, I got one. I figured better safe than sorry as that strain was pretty ugly. Sure as crap I got sick, same reaction I've always had. I was sitting in a corner at work wrapped up in my jacket trying to stay warm and pounding water. Went home with a fever and slept for 2 days. Then I ended up catching the flu anygoddamned way!

Thus, I don't really give a tinkers damn what the "experts" think, the damned things make me sick. Fever, chills, the whole nine yards for anywhere from 24 to 48 hours. They always have, they always do. Cause and effect. It is what it is, but's it is reality, at least in my world.

So. Have a nice day. Brick wall

One can feel unwell from the flu shot. CDC says something like 1-2% of the population will feel fever and chills for up to 2 days after receiving the flu shot.

I have no idea what causes this... but it's not the flu itself, and you are not "sick" as in infected with a virus. Your body is having a negative reaction to the flu shot in some manner.

they do not use live viruses in the flu shot anymore so the odds are virtually zero of the shot causing the flu.
they do use live but attenuated (I think that's the word for weakened) viruses in the nasal spray, but still almost immeasurable odds of it causing the flu due to said weakening.

however many can get the flu even after receiving the shot if the mixture for that season predicted the wrong strain emerging as the dominant problem version.
In order to get enough doses produced in time, they have to make an educated guess as to which strain will emerge (once it hits, it's way too late)...so one can get a flu shot and come down with a different strain or version.

still worth it even if the odds dip as low as 25%.

Some meds can lower your immune system.. so there is a chance if you're taling somethin that does that.. I've never been sick right after the shot myself but I've still had flu symptoms later.. i know they try to predict stains and stuff and vaccinate based on that.. but more peoples die from the regular flu than some weird strand they vaccinate you for... For the live attenuated viruses, I don't believe they are really infectious at all. It's been too many years but I used to work in the facility that packaged those every season. I remember looking at some documentation regarding how they were attenuated, and if I recall correctly, it really could not become infectious under any expected circumstances.

But again, the live attenuated viruses are only the nasal spray.

Feeling unwell = sick.

Do you parse and quibble every single freaking point?

Dude, being an adult means you don't have to post. It's my view, I'm keeping, I do not care about yours.

Chill dude. There is a lot of misinformation about vaccines out there, there were a number of cbid members years ago that believed all sorts of nonsense about vaccines, from that they cause autism to that they were responsible for some unknown ailments they had later in life. I have no idea who you are or what level of knowledge you have about them, so I err on the side of caution. This is why I wanted to be very specific.

If there's fecal matter involved, that's an entirely different matter.
