An underreported threat along America's northern border has U.S. officials and local residents warning of widespread damage due to the reckless invaders: Feral hogs from Canada.

At least eight pigs have been spotted in Canada, just above the border with Lincoln County, Montana, according to officials.

Wildlife Services, the Montana Invasive Species Council, the National Feral Swine Program and the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks department say the pigs could cause significant damage.

“Multiple people say that if we were to design an invasive species that would do the most widespread damage, feral swine aren’t too far off from being the perfect specimen,” Dale Nolte, of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Feral Swine Program, told the Daily Inter Lake. “It would be a disaster.”

The pigs were described as "rototillers" — they root for food and wallow in farms, fields and forests, leaving terrain unrecognizable. Tahnee Szymanski, of the Montana Department of Livestock, told the publication the feral hogs "can decimate the rangeland by tearing up everything."

The pigs might also spread diseases impacting livestock and other animals.

Must be global warming, feral hogs have been a problem in the south for several years.

Absolutely......low and slow is the trick.Wrap early to hold in moisture, wild pigs are pretty lean.

I dunno... maybe because they're 98.2% muslims and they want to kill you simply because you're Jewish?

those speculative numbers are wrong...more people in America are killed by born-here terrorists than by Islamic terrorists, and it's not even close...I've never felt that any of the Muslims I've worked with had any ill intent or were harboring homicidal thoughts about killing non-Muslims...

Two of my colleagues at Santa Ana College volunteered to fly to Washington DC after 9/11 to help investigate the perpetrators by translating their communications...

And I would agree that there are wonderful people among them.
But as populations grow, so do the centers of extremism.
It is a significant problem in Europe. And it is growing.
And it will happen here.

I really dislike the ruling regime in Iran, but the common citizens have seemed pro-west for several decades. They have been coming here for years contributing to childhood cancer research and other big brain stuff...but no longer is that possible. Truly a shame. These are people from a brilliant and ancient culture, not to be confused with the easy to pity (or easy to despise) rag-tag Arabs we see on the news. Islam, yes. Arab, no. ..........

not sure what thread but I do know that I often see Iranians called Arab, which they are not. Islam, yes (that is their major religion) Arab, no (cuz they aren't).

I also may have been moaning about the loss of many pro-west Iranians due to immigration stuff now , the highly trained medical and science professionals that have added a great deal to our lives as they melded seamlessly into our way of life...

I suppose the words that caught your attention were "not to be confused with the easy to pity (or easy to despise) rag-tag Arabs we see on the news..."

I am familiar with this post, but I am not in that mode now, but in my life I have referenced the Arabs we are shown in the news, often Palestinians in an uprising, or under attack from Israel, or (more often than people know) in staged events depicting injury. They always look "rag-tag" and that is intentional, but not how I see most of them. It's how the producers want us to see them.

This makes it easy for them to draw pity and world sympathy from many viewers, but also may be met with derision by others...hence despise. Seems to be an either/or reaction to the pics and videos.
And depending on who is displaying the pics, they are likely looking to arouse either pity or derision.

But I can tell you that under whatever circumstances I wrote that, I personally do not despise Arabs, nor do I pity them...and I'm also reasonably sure in my mind I was picturing Palestinians when I wrote those rag tag words, not all Arabs, and I don't hate them either.
And just as I feel about the ruling regime in Iran, I do truly dislike nearly all of the leaders/rulers of the Palestinians (Hamas et al).

Rise above the rhetoric. Look at the facts from a world view. Formulate an opinion. React according to your beliefs. Do NOT vilify others if they disagree.

Ahem. Cough. Phlegm.

Screw you, too. Ya rotten... whatever.

Pardon, sir. How's the tuna fishing?

Everyone has an angle.

Weird, isn't it? You and I have so much common ground, so much we agree on, we even dare to spend a glorious day on the water together, sharing beers, cigars, and (gasp) even ideas...

You're definitely a libtard. Frickin phag. Can't say I dislike you, though.

Might have a man crush.

there are four of us on this side of the country that still shake our heads when speaking of that day, and will forever remember and appreciate those hours on the water.

I still get a chuckle thinking about Caren saying on the way to meet you...you don't even know this guy. For all you know, he'll take us way out in the Pacific, kill us, and throw us overboard.

But she knew that I really did know you before we met.

Love ya brother.

Now, closer to home. The link has to do with one of my wife's former students. She also has a sister that threatened to blow-up a teacher. Nothing like peace and love being taught in the family/home.
