The plants got a little pruning, now the real picking begins, a set or so of leaves each week for at least a month, now I'm getting a real pro's tips, hehe.

Thanks Nick!

Just in time for the rain from Isaac.

They look good. Nothing smells as sweet as curing tobacco.

What's funny is right after this pic, I turned on the soaker hose....................and forgot it for 4 hrs...........................and then I got almost a half inch of rain overnight.

The Isaac rains will be a Godsend, but not the winds, and I feel and pray for our folks down on the Coast.

Reminds me I will have to take another pond pic, it's the lowest it has ever gotten since it was built.

Thank you kind sir, I'm gonna be in trouble when my phone "takes a dump on me" as it is the easiest way to post pics here and they come out pretty good. (not a smart phone, still matches their stone age tech, here, hehe)

It's probably 4-5 yrs old ,way overdue to die, will go off all of a sudden during certain maneuvers, was warned by a Verizon person that has always been trustworthy, and went to school with my wife.

She's said they have been tough, but she can't believe mine is still ticking!

not sure, I can get it dried fairly proper, but I don't think I have enough volume to make it "ferment', "go through a heat", so it will properly season and the sugars come out and all the ammonia start to vent off.

Maybe Nick will get back with me and give me a tip, he already helped, after the pruning and rain, they look much better, especially the Burley, i think the Connie Broadleaf is almost prime now, and I am about a week behind the seco cuttings. Somebody's gonna get some kinda samples, that's all I know.

will do, I enjoy this stuff, hurt very much or would really have a great deal more veggies, etc. A really bad drought as well, but baccy is really hardy, s is ndn corn. Can give you some seeds to plant of the corn, really hardy, only need to plant six or seven in a circle and they will "make". Plant a squash in the center, a few beans to climb the stalks and you have a "3 Sisters Garden". One can live on that as a protein sub. fer real.

that's rough, brother, If I had cows, they would have taken it out months ago as well ,would've gone broke running city water, it is run over to the pond and she said her ex used it to help get it started, but no way would I try and keep it up, I will post a new pic of the pond before any rains that Isaac may bring, need to get busy trying to get my son to help get a sallet patch worked up and planted before those rains set in.

it ain't looking good, hehe. even though they finished the house they were building and he's home early today!

I may be a few dollars ahead by next week brother, I may give you a ring and discuss getting some more of that sage, while it is in flower. I would almost have you try and get me a small chunk of rhizome/root, but I think that will work better next spring, not sure it will ever really grow here, though. No rush, it blooms through Sept. I ain't going nowhere.

Good looking plants. Hard to tell how tall they are...but for scale, if that dog is an albino giant Schnauzer, you'd better patent that seed stock!

LOL, nah, a little West Highland White Terrier.

But the plants in the foreground are a little over 3' tall, and teh flower stlk on the Connie Broadleaf is around 4-1/2 to 5' tall.

Gives me an idea, I have an old stick type yardstick, I will take it up and have it in my next pic.

should see her now, she hasn't had a haircut since then, LOL, I tried to cut some hair away from her eyes to help her see a little better, that didn't work out well..............scissors get stuck in her thick hair, she starts flailing in my wife's arms, and shaking her head, scissors are flopping still stuck, she's snapping, luckily they finally fell out, no one hurt, hehe.

I've got an appt. for a grooming next week

NOzzir, hard to believe, but there are still some of the smaller leaves and maybe a piece of stalk or two in one or more of the larger coolers.

Most of the larger and better formed leaves were sent to a Brother on here, Lou2row, and he made some really cool ash trays with the leaves as a mold. Some of the leaves were 14 inches long and 7-8 inches wide. he said the leaves were so soft and sticky that it was not easy to get them loose from the formed up ashtray after they hardened and cured.
