That is the problem with defending everything this dolt does as well. At some point the next guy will not be your guy but you just defended the indefensible for one thus the other party will say yea but....

The Rs were not exactly kind to Obama and the incessant investigations were a bit much, and rarely found anything. It's ok to investigate but at some point you have to accept their conclusion even when they don't get you what you want. All but the initial Benghazi investigations were silly. Same with the DNC server except its carried over when the sides flipped.

But you are right opel. It works both ways. It's just funny to use that as a justification for one when you don't for the other.

But I agree, precidence is a bitch. Harry Reid is learning that as will McConnel

#14 ^ once he's found guilty in a court of law...

Trump's level of incompetence; disdain for the rule of law; ignorance of the powers assigned to congress and limits of the powers of the executive spelled out in the constitution; and self-serving corruption has provided ample targets for legitimate investigation...these are not hoaxes or witch hunts...

there has been piles of evidence of wrong-doing, including admissions from Trump himself and his cronies...just play back the videos...idiots openly admit criminal intent and behavior, so an exhaustive lengthy investigation like the Mueller Special Prosecution isn't needed...

I fully expect Americans of both parties to resist similar behavior regardless of the party affiliation of the perp...

I hope if Dems elect someone like Trump, that there would be plenty of Dems voicing outrage and demanding his/her ouster

I do agree with Opel in that this presidency is going to make it harder on future presidencies. There likely will be an over correction as a result of the unprecedented corruption in this administration.

Hillary's pay-to-play would have warranted an investigation... but we wouldn't have ever heard a thing about it from the fake news media... Mellow

I dunno I’ve heard about all the other investigations in to Hillary. But she lost and trump is President and you seem disinterested in all of his crimes.

I'd say it's a sucker bet that the next dem in the whitehouse that has a republican controlled House will be impeached for something.

Possibly krazyhorse. The Clinton impeachment was more of a farce than this one however. At least this time it involves work lol.

Drafter, in this case it will likely involve prosecution. Actually it already has. I wonder if once the DOJ no longer shields un indicted co conspiracor one if that dude will get prosecuted?

I’m m laying pretty good odds that the reason for this turd to need re-election is to manipulate and stop criminal charges. He is as dirty as they come. And I thought Bill Clinton was bad. This guy is filthy dirty.

don't think the GOP can treat a Dem POTUS with any more disrespect than they did Obama...McConnell made that clear from day one that he and his party had zero inclination to work across the aisle...

if a Dem POTUS crosses half as many legal, criminal and moral lines like the doofus occupying the WH now, I would want him out also...

I think you may be off on your constitutional interpretation. Nowhere in the constitution or case law (that I know of) is there any requirement of "prosecution". It is not a condition precedent.

and in the case of the POTUS, it seems that an unwritten policy by the DOJ is that a sitting POTUS should not be the subject of a criminal indictment while in office...

which seems to be the basis for Mueller's decision not to recommend prosecution of Trump for at least 10 counts of obstruction of justice spelled out in detail in his report...

wise people before us believed that if the POTUS was not artificially protected in this way, there would be endless politically motivated indictments aimed at a sitting POTUS so as to prevent him from executing his official duties...that seems to be what Trump's lawyers are arguing, overlooking their client's conduct...

the Constitution provides for oversight of the POTUS by giving some power to the Congress, including the authority to impeach and remove from office...

And the DOJ also gave that protection to who they thought was going to be President... Mellow
