It's sick isn't it? Visiting with the people who were affected by 9/11 the most and thanking in person the men who killed him. Outrageous.

Putting on a flight suit, sitting a fighter jet as it landed on an air-craft carrier, changing into a suit and making a speech under a Mission Accomplished banner live on TV.

"Admiral Kelly, Captain Card, officers and sailors of the USS Abraham Lincoln, my fellow Americans, major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed."

And the war wasn't even close to being over. What a chump.

Impeach now.

I wonder where the Mission Accomplished banner is..?? they should auction it off or somethin...

Heh, I'm sure they don't want that thing to ever see the light of day ever again.

Let's take a look at the Sunday announcement and the number of times he said 'I' and the context.

"I can report to the American people and to the world, the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden"

"And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda"

"I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden"

"I've made clear, just as President Bush did shortly after 9/11, that our war is not against Islam."

"I've repeatedly made clear that we would take action within Pakistan if we knew where bin Laden was."

"Tonight, I called President Zardari"

"These efforts weigh on me every time I, as commander in chief, have to sign a letter to a family that has lost a loved one"

"And tonight, let us think back to the sense of unity that prevailed on 9/11. I know that it has, at times, frayed."

8 times. How many of those are objectionable?

You find the way these two Presidents handled these two situations equal?

It's 'awkward' for Obama because the Republicans have painted every Democrat with the 'weak of Defense' label, which is obviously not true. As pointed out here this week he has spoken the same way since he was a candidate about his plans for the military and strategy. He hasn't fulfilled all his promises in 2 years, but there is still time, so, we'll see.

lol, no. He's just a helluva lot better than the right is painting him out to be. If the right wasn't so crazy in their criticism of Democrats and/or Obama, I wouldn't have much to defend.

Just like HD before you. I never said Obama was 'Great', and I never said 'right wing conspiracy', nor hinted at either.

Just like calling Obama a Kenyan Communist etc etc, it's so outrageous it shouldn't even need to be addressed, but it's so prevalent that the majority of Republicans believed that Obama was not a citizen of the US before he released his long form BC. I don't know what the polling says now though.
