it was why baseball is still great.
unlike all other sports with clocks, what many now consider slow and not enough action is really known as building suspense.
sad for them youngsters who can't handle delayed gratification.

this was an excellent and very interesting World Series.

Congrats Expos.

Big Papi just handed Juan Soto a cigar...you think he won a box of his namesake here?

Well, David does love his cigars:

Big Papi is a man!

I was routing for the Strohs (I’m a Braves/Rangers fan) but the story line for the Nationals is something.

I think someone else mentioned that Bryce Harper left in free agency and then they won. hahahaha

That dudes a punk-ass.

And I won't watch boreball unless the Red Sox are in it. It's boring. I went to one game and left by the 5th. Bored outa my skull.

congrats to the Nationals...they came back from a miserable start to the season...and beat the two top pre-playoff faves to win the title...

first time ever that the home team lost every game of the World Series, leaving a lot of disappointed fans...

after game six, there was a report that this was the least watched, lowest rated WS...don't know what the ratings were for game 7, but I watched...

So I was born and raised in the DC suburbs and am a huge baseball fan. I played into college, tried out with the Orioles and pirates and then played semiprofessional ball until I was 48. Then I took to coaching my boys 10u to 13u.

My first baseball game attended was the senators in 1966. I've been through a LOT of disappointments with the senators over the years, then with the nationals repeatedly losing in the first round of the playoffs.

This WS win was the culmination of years of losing. As the final strike crossed the plate, I said to my wife that my only disappointment is that my dad didn't live to see it....he died in 2015 at 87.
