Is REALLY GREAT!!

IT'S about the music scene in the 1960's
In LAUREL CANYON , CALIFORNIA....
Just outside of L.A....

Jakob DYLAN ( bob Dylan's son) and several other people had an idea after watching a B-movie from the 60's called "Model Shop"
which was filmed at the EXACT time as all this great music was being written in Laurel Canyon...

At the end they have a benefit? concert in a great old music Hall and these musicians play all the great old songs..
Beck, Fiona apple, several master studio musicians... interviews with Tom petty, Steven stills, RoGer MacgUin/ the Byrd's,
Jackson BrowNe, GrAhAm NAsh, Mama's and the papas/ the hot blonde? Not hot anymore
Michelle phillps, Neil young was talked about a lot but never interviewed,the
Beach Boys, Ringo starr, many other producers and managers...

Freaking great show...

Heard about this rockumentary.

Never met Michelle in person but her daughter, Mackenzie, came into the record store I used to work a couple of times and besides being a 3 out of 10 in the looks department, she was always f*#ked up each time. Dunno if she was drunk or stoned (...or both...) but she’d claim she didn’t bring her glasses and couldn’t see the cassette titles so we’d let her go behind the counter to look at them. She would gather up a bunch of tapes then sit on the floor to look at them. She never put them back where they belonged so the clerk that was watching her had to do it. I helped her once and was so disgusted with the time we had to spend on her and how messed up she was that I vowed never to help her again.

Yeah...
Mackenzie Phillip's drug and drinking problems were well known in the tabloids, entertainment tonight TV stories, People Magazine ran multiple stories with her going to rehab and her relapses...

I felt kinda sorry for her because she grew up in a "party" atmosphere with tons of MUSICIANS in and out of their house when she was young...I think her dad gave her joints before she was 10 yrs old ? Or even younger...

She was in some LAME SITCOM WITH BONNIE?Franklin,
One day at a time?
AND what's his names eddie? Van Halen's ex-wife Valerie
Bertinelli...drugs and weight problems with her too...

Great show.

Made me miss Tom Petty more.

Made me listen to Buffalo Springfield more too!

This is what Jakob said he was working on when we saw him this past summer with the Wildflowers. Most of the band he performs with in the show comes from his band!

So glad I got to see him July 4, 2017 that weekend in
NY State at the CMAC theatre beside Lake Canandaiuga...

A-Rod is not in the documentary... He's briefly portrayed by a 9 year old boy... It's a pretty humorous look at a pretty ridiculous situation....

The two real people in it are the doctor who was setting A. Rod up with the drugs and the tanning addict who took them down over a $4k debt...


Haven't seen the ganja documentary... Is that Netflix?
