Mayo? Hellmans. It's called Best Foods out west.

Never had blue plate, so I can't say about that.

Can't say I've had Blue Plate, but probably tried every mayo sold out west, including Dukes. Gotta go with Kewpie though. Changed my opinion about store bought mayo entirely. This stuff is amazing.

**: Make sure you get the real import from Japan (comes in a celophane bag with all the labeling and nutritional stuff on the bag). They have a licensing agreement with a company in the US that sells a version with labels on the bottle, it's not the same.

Hellman's gets the nod over Blue Plate but...……….

Sir Kinsington's is better than both the above...…...all that being said Miracle Whip usually tops the #1 spot for sammiches in our house.

1. Dukes. Hands down.
2. Hellmans/Best foods.
3. Kewpie, but mine's in the bottle. I'll have to try the packages.
4. Blue plate. Honestly it seemed bland to me.

Ron, I filed a civil suit for child abuse against my parents because I grew up thinking miracle whip was mayo. Imagine my chagrin upon joining the Navy and finding out I had been hornswoggled!

So between your "chuck is better than brisket" and "miracle whip is better than mayo" comments. I reckon it's only a matter of time before they run your carpet bagger ass out of Texas. Them ole boys are not going to let that kind of nonsense slide! BigGrin

I thought Duke's was a Southern brand. Seems weird they wouldn't have it in Pigfuckle, Mississippi.

That's the US made version. The Japanese manufactured version does not have mustard or sugar in it, and only uses rice vinegar. They both are made with egg yolks only, which is why they are so rich and savory.

Miracle Whip is some vile concoction by Kraft made to imitate spoiled mayonnaise.

They are both mainly highly inflammatory Omega 6 soy bean oil. Great for causing inflammation and loading your system with estrogen like flavonoids. Canola oil based mayos aren't any better. We use Sir Kennsington or Chosen Foods 100% avocado oil based mayo. Avocado oil is super high in anti-inflammatory Omega 3. Avocado oil mayo is actually a health food. Others, not so much. FYI

I love me some Wild Planet sardines drowned in avocado mayo. Omega 3 overload.

Yes, you can get it easily out west where there is a diversity of cultures, unlike Inbred County, MS.

Here, if you guys have stopped using your Amazon delivery drivers as skeet targets, you can just order it.

Jar was delivered today, after opening, I promptly stuck a spoon in it.

Not bad. Very eggy which I like. Noticed it's also an all-yolk mayo like Kewpie.

I like it. I prefer more bite/snap to it, like Kewpie has, but I think this could easily be my backup/bulk mayo for big dishes with a tiny bit of doctoring if it were readily available / reasonably priced here. Displacing both Best Foods/Hellman's and McCormick's Mexican mayo with lime.

Thanks Anthony!

Glad you like it. If you can buy on Amazon as a subscription it will be even cheaper.

My Kewpie is due here tomorrow. Anxious to try it.

I'm anxious to try the pouch version. I have one squeeze bottle version left, so I will do a side by side to see what I think. Chef

Dukes and Blue Plate are southern brands of mayonnaise.

Kewpie is a Japanese mayo.

Miracle whip is indeed sickly sweet nasty crap foisted off on unsuspecting children causing development and trust issues later in life.
