Is there any college football team more overrated than Ohio State?

I'd like to see them play a top team to see if they're the real deal. Their strength of schedule is the weakest of any of the current playoff teams. As much as I'm tired of Alabama and the Tua craze; at least they've played top teams. fog

On a side note. It is sad to see Tua have that injury. From what I've read about him he's a pretty good guy. I hope he makes a full recovery. fog

He better graduate with a good degree...

I’ve been saying the same thing about them and Clemson. Neither one have a tough schedule.

It’s unfortunate that Tua was injured. Three injuries all requiring surgery may make him seem like a huge risk for an NFL team. A marquee QB is very hard to find should be he down playing in the NFL. Most teams have an abundance of capable players at many positions, but not at QB.

Same dog different fleas. They played and beat only 2 ranked teams this year. However, Michigan shouldn’t even be ranked.

In fact, they all beat the same weak opponents. So I’d say not really.

Not really a team and none of their teams are in serious contention to make the final four. There maybe some chatter on the sports sites on Oregon and Utah but it's just that. IMO fog

You’re must be joking. Who has Ohio St. beat this year???

All but 1 game were against high school teams. The only noteworthy win was against 14th ranked Wisconsin 8-2 who happened to lose to a 4-6 Illinois. And you say their schedule is stronger than LSU and Ga’s schedules?

That kool-ade you’re drinking must be some powerful stuff.

The only accurate statement you made was that Bama hasn’t been challenged until LSU. That didn’t go well for the Tide.

TRIGGERED!!!!

ram27bat

Strength of schedule ratings are pretty subjective in their own right. Several do place OSU as tougher than AL or Clem. One even had them as the toughest though most put LSU in that spot.

College rankings have been pretty flaky from the start and the four team playoff has done little to alleviate the endless discussion as to whom belongs where.

I admit this year's schedule hasn't caused me much anxiety since games that were supposed to be challenging were broken up by what might as well have been scrimmages.

But overrated? The Buckeyes are the best team in college football. This is true because I believe it is. The rest a youse will believe it too, once they finish with an undefeated record and the title

No problem with you believing in OSU. If I were a fan of them I’d believe the same thing. Like you I’m skeptical of rankings. As far as schedule strength goes, hard to convince me that beating one top 15 ranked team as opposed to 3 ranked teams ranging from #3 to #9 denotes a stronger schedule.

With that should both LSU and OSU meet in the Championship we need to have a wager.

I recall a few years ago when nobody believed Ohio State even belonged in the conversation... and they got in the playoff and they won the title.

I was one who doubted them.

I think OSU would give LSU one helluva game, myself.

That was the first year for the playoffs. Starting the postseason with an unproven 3rd string quarterback, hell I had doubts myself

yes, yes you did...until I just deconstructed it.

Vince, there's been so many of them lately. I just don't have the strength.

Our Bucks caught a few breaks today but still look pretty good. Looks like MI might have made a training film on how to handle Chase Young though. I hope not.

I continue to say #1 team in the country. Was surprised by the mitigation of Mr. Young. Hope nobody was taking notes
