barring an unprecedented catastrophe in the next couple of weeks, the US will experience a major accomplishment that has not happened in our nation's history: we have never completed a calendar decade without having an economic recession...

Cheers to President Obama and President Trump for their leadership during the past ten years that helped to produce continued growth without serious stumbles for an entire decade!

we need more bipartisan accomplishments like this.

But back to your point, the only reason the economy is booming is because Trump lifted the restrictions on oil and gas, renegotiated trade deals, and cut taxes.. this was opposite of Obama... (Mellow

Trump was not in charge from 2010 to January 2017...I seem to recall Obama being the POTUS then...

it is inarguable the US pulled out of a deep recession, caused by a largely unregulated banking and finance industry, after Obama took office in January 2009...no one predicted the US would recover so quickly, compared to every other nation in the world...

...he left office in 2017 with the US economy enjoying momentum for continued growth and record profits, despite regulations enacted during his terms...seems regulated capitalism can prosper under Dem leadership...

one can argue that Trump has divided the country further with his white nationalist bullchit, exposing deeply ingrained beliefs among significant numbers of Americans - his base...beliefs that have been kept below the surface, but due to his white nationalist, anti - immigrant rhetoric... has given license to more hateful public dialog...creating an environment where hate crimes and violence against minorities has increased....

instead of the reinvestments and new orders of equipment and other upgrades this was promised to create, the tax savings ended up used for bonuses and buying back stock...and unlike any breaks we were supposed to get, it will not expire!
