What is it with Starbucks employees continually disrespecting police? I'm not much of a fan of their coffee... used to get it for free when my son worked there, but I prefer better coffee and I prefer it pressed, so they never got much business from me anyway.

No surprise. Look at it’s leadership for clues. They shut the all the stores for one day of diversity training after two black males were profiled. Yet, no training and barely an acknowledgement regarding the disrespect shown LEO’s.

How does this happen?
I'm in liberal Massachusetts and if my local SB did this they'd be run out of town.
Then where would I get my spent grounds for my flower beds?

Yeah, I mean what were the cops thinking even being in there? Don't they know their place is at the doughnut shop?

This post should have it's own title.... How I learned to stop worrying about upsetting the popo and learned to love the body cavity searches!

You know the FBI and NSA are going to read this right?

The baristas have been put on paid administrative lead pending the outcome of the internal investigation.

So has this happened enough times to assume it is a corporate problem and not just individual (idiot) baristas?

If it is the corporation, they are in the same category as lunch counter operators that refused to serve blacks in the sixties.

FWIW, any business that turns down business should't be in business. Rest assured, I'm doing what I can to support the latter eventuality.

... yes because a chosen profession is totally the same as a race.

I would argue it's more of a culture with Starbucks. They're left-leaning and justify it under the false narrative that all cops are racist and it is further aggravated by the fact that you can't punch a cop in the face even if he is a nazi.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate police so I do not believe they are racists or nazis but the left does. Someone has to protect the idiots who cannot or downright refuse to protect themselves.

I will never understand the left's hatred of cops. They want to take all the guns away yet hate the people they would allow to have guns.

"Dumb" is not paying attention and jumping to a negative conclusion, but what else would I expect from you.

In both cases a business, in business to make a profit, is refusing service.

The missing out on profit isn't what's upsetting you though. And a profession one chooses is different than a race.

You want to make an accurate equivalence, then say it's as if Starbucks baristas refused service to employees of a slaughterhouse because they disapproved of the occasional videos of slaughterhouse employees mistreating animals.

Regardless of the leanings of the organization, they don't to my knowledge have a policy to refuse service to any profession, be they cops, taxidermists, hookers, etc. Therefore the baristas responsible should be subject to some form of discipline for making the rules up as they go

Correct SoB. After a full investigation and oversight by the baristas union, if their conduct is shown to be improper then they should be punished or transferred to another Starbucks or something.

Vicky must you be an antagonist in every controversial post pointing out liberal bias?I think it's quite obvious there are some leadership issues at SB's...……..this has happened too many times,it's not coincidental.

thank God you have taken the role of explaining what (a little more than) half the nation thinks.
Are you also speaking for all conservatives too? Cuz the one or two I know think you sound wrong.

Just speaking my mind and for myself. I would be curious to hear what political leanings all of these anti-cop people have, I will admit bias as well. Probably another blue hair with piercings in funny places. It's not conservatives calling for violence against progressives or conservatives calling cops pigs.

In real life, I hope you continue to speak you mind and for yourself...but you kind of diverted a hair to assuming some stuff for liberals.

I am a liberal (duh) and do not know anyone who hates cops...kind of a bad jumping off point.
though I have probably heard the same amount of complaints about cops "unbridled power" from my con friends as my lib friends...sometimes from cons here.

So there's that, plus I'm am bitter and have nothing better to do than nit pick on a discount cigar forum.

I believe the “Cop Block” crowd is more of an anarchist/left and or militant black thing by some. Maybe you’re linking the part of the left that likes to say things to be down with the struggle but not actively struggling.

I also LOVE Republicans that are bitching about the fourth amendment being dead now because of FISA abuses (which did happen) while they just voted to extend the “Patriot act” again.

http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2019/roll672.xml

Posted for your reading pleasure. My DemocRAT POS didn’t vote for it but my POS who’s leaving at the end of this term RepubliCANT did.

Now as far as the Charbucks crap? Consider that a societal issue which is probably more left leaning but the source is closer to narcissistic jackasses than just being a lefty. But then complicated answers require thinking it through which is hard with emotional issues at times.

Don't you dare generalize or you'll be accused of "speaking for all the left".

As if that's difficult.

some Starbucks locations have been in the news for being unwelcoming to black customers...discrimination of any kind is repulsive...

this problem of discrimination could be a phenomenon of geography...the company doesn't have a monolithic employee pool...they have to hire people who apply, usually from the surrounding community...some areas may have a larger proportion of racists, others have cop-haters...

reminds me of the city I lived in before our current home...it was quite common to see 6-8 police cruisers parked at a Yum Yum Donut shop a few blocks from my house...there were several other donut shops in the city, but I never saw any police cars at any of them...turns out the cops got free coffee and half price off donuts...least robbed donut shop in town...

For some reason this just reminds me of the family guy episode where the raccoon in the broken TV jumps out and attacks peter as he believes he is watching a raccoon on actual TV.

Also, there is a Cheeto under the fridge.

When a black man was discriminated against the corporation closed down all their shops and held a workshop on diversity.

Nobody is talking about the individuals abhorrent behavior. It's the culture from the top that is despicable.
