Anyone had these? Are they as good or better than the regular Punch Rare Corojo?

haven't had the 10th Anniversary...

I liked the Punch Rare Corojo during the beginning of my cigar journey, nearly 10 years ago. Then I discovered the Camacho Corojo, which I thought was much better, so I didn't go back to the Punch....now I find that I don't like the latest Camacho Corojos as well as the previous ones...

d'oh!

seems cigars vary from production year to production year...very difficult to replicate a blend, year after year because the leaves, even if grown from the same batch of seeds, will exhibit some variances depending on a variety of factors...

I was a big fan of the DC Maximus 5-6 years ago...the ones I bought 2-3 years ago didn't meet that mark...same for the Crowned Head Las Calaveras...2014 was an outstanding year...others weren't as good...some outstanding cigars don't age welll, others do....

I started smoking cigars back in the early 90’s. My go to was the Partagas Sobroso tubes. After 4-5 years I put them down until about 10 years ago. When I started smoking again my go to cigars were Camacho Corojo Churchill’s.

When I joined CBID in 2012’One of the first auctions I won was a box of Punch Rare Corojo Churchill’s. Loved them so much I bought 5-6 more boxes then buried them for about 3 years. With a little age they were very tasty.

Then a few years ago I developed a health issue that convinced me to cut waaaaaaay back. From say 3-4 per day to about a dozen a year. IIRC, when I sold my collection there was still a box of age Punches and a box or 2 Camachos in my humidor.

False advertising?

Did the OR contain real “rare” Corojo?

I know the current description does not include any mention of Corojo so you’d think they’d rename it?

Or not. d'oh!

Yeah that is weird now that I'm reading it. This 10th Anniversary does actually have a Connecticut Corojo wrapper but the regular states it has a Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. WTF?
LOL
That being said the flavor profiles between the 2 should be somewhat different.

After researching these further it seems these were only released once in 2011? So any stock today would have ~8yrs age on it??

(Someone correct me if they know otherwise.)
