With that said, it is silly to call the actions of Necro Nancy illegal.
I can't allow my friends here to think I have heard or seen her, but I do know who she is. I do my best to avoid news opinion shapers on both sides (not so easy) but I read a small article in the newspaper today that said she had a law degree, clerked at the Supreme Court, and laughed at him when the Congressman went off on this...
found it.
The GOP Rep is Matt Gaetz from FL, he called for a House Ethics Committee investigation and a referral to the Justice Department. He was supported by GOP Rep Lee Zeldin of New York in his demands.
"She couldn't hide her amusement at Gaetz's demand for a probe. Chuckling, she said, well it's not really a formal record because it's a copy of the speech that the president signed...this is cute, but it's not going to work. "
the article explains what most could figure out, that "the law is designed to preserve documents and other official materials in places like the National Archives".
It appears the original stupid idea was born "in a tweet by Trump friend Charlie Kirk, founder of the conservative group Turning Point USA".
..and repeated here!
