Zederkoff, cigar Oasis, xikar, accurite and this little Chinese job. So sick of these none stay accurate to each other. I actually trust my analog one the most.
What say you?

I like the 65% Boveda packs...

I too have an old French analog that has been regularly tested for 10 years now.......and always reads 3 or 4 over on salt tests.
Better and more consistent results than almost all of my digitals, many of which didn’t even last 10 years.

But I pretty much don’t even need hygros any more. Bovedas and beads.................done.

The Cigar Oasis Caliber IV and Cigar Oasis Caliber 4R have been the best for me thus far. Both can be calibrated. But yeah as KOH mentioned, Boveda is pretty much dead on. I have several humi's with Boveda only and no hygrometer.

Yup. ThumpUp

I use both in the Ziploc bags, humidors and coolers I use for storage and don’t have any issues. I fretted too much on the accuracy of the hygrometers and eventually got tired of all the constant worrying and testing.

Reminds me that I have to calibrate all the hygrometers. I don't think I have two with the same humidity reading. At one time I would just buy new ones when they were about $3, Then the reseller BK started buying all of them here and the prices have about tripled.

No beads for me. Not paying some guy a 25,000% markup just for dumping a certain type of sand from a big bag (with his secret bulk supplier's name on it) into a little bag (with his middleman repackaging company's name on it). Not gonna happen.

Superabsorbent polymer beads (which YOU, not just gouging middlemen, can buy dirt cheap on Amazon) and Boveda packs for the win.

As for hygros, Western/Oasis Caliber IV all day long, and nothing else. Calibrate carefully with many readings averaged using a known-RH reference environment, and you're golden.

I have the Boveda Bluetooth one and like it. No idea how accurate it is. Use the 65% heartfelt beads and it always reads pretty close to that.

Be gentle, long time cigar guy first time poster. I have 4 of the Bluetooth govee hygrometers. 20 dollars a piece alerts set to my phone for rh and temp. Super accurate

I have a cigar oasis in a coolidor, heartfelt beads, brevada packs and black ice. The cigar oasis works best as it also moves the air and I get consistent rh all over. Followed by heartfelt beads. Never go on the recommendations of the bead or brevada mfg always be testing with something that measures rh

Cheers

Used to use kitty litter, but I left the humi open one day and the cat peed in it. Now I've gone modern with Jelly. Not sure which I like best tho I'm leaning toward mint. Didn't care for the strawberry or molasses but the grape is showing some promise.

Propylene Glycol mixed with distilled water. 50 / 50 mix. Scientifically produces 70% RH. No hygro needed. Must order the PG from a pharmacist. 1 quart lasts forever and it's around $12

I somewhat agree. I'd prefer 67 - 68 % but eh....for as easy and as cheap as the PG / Distilled water is, I'll take it. Sometimes I take a few sticks out of the humi and leave them sitting out for about 24 hrs before smoking. Fairly easy trade off.

It works for me so I've always stuck with it.

Don't take any drinks offered by this noob. Apparently there are side effects to drinking this stuff - makes you ultra old and paranoid. Also reports of chemical or metallic taste have been made.

So, you join a forum, badmouth it, then start blocking all the members (I hope I am next, please please!!!) but somehow keep replying to them and calling them names .

You were home schooled weren't you? You have trouble dealing with adversity, don't you? You are a 1099 contractor at a glory hole, aren't you?
