So what do you all think?
Gunner, I have:
The Colibri V-cut (black carbon fiber)
The Xikar VX (one in black, one in brown with Diesel logo)
The Xikar VX2 (one in gunmetal, one in red)
I can't speak to the Palio V as I don't have it and I've never used it, but I can tell you about these three.
The Colibri never gets used because it takes just an enormous chunk out of the cigar, so much that often the cap comes undone or other unravelling problems occur, and also it's so deep of a V that you often have to either smoke the cigar in one orientation only or push your lips really far down on the tip or you can't get a lip-seal to draw (haha yeah insert joke here). Overkill, impractical, do not like.
The Xikar VX makes a modest-sized V but it's perfectly serviceable in most cases.
The Xikar VX2 makes a V that's between the VX and the Colibri in size. It's a "Goldilocks" cut IMO, not too small, not too big, just right.
Currently my Colibri sits in a drawer, and I use the Xikar VX for cigars where I think a smaller V will be beneficial (e.g. cigars known to usually have a looser draw) and the VX2 for cigars where I think a deeper (but not ludicrously-big) V will be helpful (e.g. on cigars that usually have a tighter draw).
Also, the VX2 in either gunmetal or red is FREAKING GORGEOUS. The gunmetal is like taking a mirror, darkening it slightly, and perfectly wrapping it around the device, and the red looks like a sports car paint job, honest to god not kidding. GORGEOUS, both! The VX2 is also hefty in the hand, the spring-loaded mechanism with the dual release buttons is really cool to both see and feel, etc. The texturing on the back is really nice too. Awesome piece. The VX is much more basic, but gets the job done.
Both VX and VX2 also double as cigar rests, due to their curved back sides.
Gonna buy only one? VX2 in red or gunmetal. Best all-around V-cutter, and by far the best looking and best feeling one. Trust me.
Look at these images and you'll not be able to resist buying. By the way, these photos aren't the best, they both look BETTER than these photos in person, believe it or not:
