I just found a partial box of Bolivar #550 cigars (glass tubos) in my humidor. They are approximately 18 years old. Any idea if these are still OK to smoke?

Cigars don't go bad if they're stored properly. If they're white and furry, probably shouldn't smoke em. If they look like cigars, light em up.

More importantly though is it's been nearly 10 years...

You didn't write, you didn't call.

Your mother, Frank, and I have been worried sick!

Ha! It's amazing they floated around in there this long. Popped one open, smells good, no fuzz, they still give a slight squeeze. Will light one up today and report back if I haven't turned green and white with a big goofy smile.

And tell ya mutha I said 'ello.

Thanks for the info

Did authentic Bolivar CC's come in glass tubes? Or are they a Thompson cigar?

Have always read that cigars over 7-10yrs old start to lose some of the essential oils - are on the downward end of their peak and start to lose some of their original flavor becoming softer in taste.

Let us know how they smoked.

Found this and everything points to the OP’s cigars as being NCs

https://www.stogierate.com/Cigars/Bolivar/1062/Bolivar%20Cofradia%20Suntuoso%20Club%20550%20glass%20tube%20(Robusto)

So to get back to the original question if these are okay to smoke, I’d say there’s only one way to find out Spark one up! 🔥

Honduras origin, Ecuador wrapper, with Honduras, Nicaragua filler. No offense, but 18yrs probably didn't make much of a difference. But enjoy smoking a well-aged Honduran smoke.

About that long ago I smoked several NC Bolis they were just a better yard gar that didn't seem to benefit much from a coupe of years in the humi. Maybe the tubos are better.

My PicPost finally was approved. http://www.cigarbid.com/...32/Are-these-still-good

I did light one up and it turned out OK. Smoke-able, yes. Top 50, probably not. As I recall, they used to have a peppery, cedar flavor, but today, it was simply a very mild smoke.

Health-wise, I woke up today and skin color looks normal, breathing is unfettered, and I did my daily jumping jacks as soon as I whipped out of bed - no issues encountered.

Thanks for the votes of confidence. ;)
