I've mostly gone cassette to CD, some vinyl to CD largely to have more mobile music. However, I did have an 8 track adapter come with my first car that you just plugged into the cassette player. Never had an 8 track to try it out with though

Hahahahaha...no. Angel

Although complicated, I’d say the late ‘90s / early ‘00s brought about major changes in buying and listening habits that led to a tumbling of the industry. Once the old stuff became available and purchased, there was no need to continue going into music stores on a regular basis. Whereas vinyl records could get worn out, scratched or warped and would have to be replaced, CDs, with a little bit of care, could last someone a really l-o-n-g time. And then the technology advancements such as mp3s, iPods and music sharing sites led to even less need for brick and mortar stores. The collapse of the Tower Records chain was inevitable and with it, so were jobs surrounding the old business model.

At one point, I dreamed of being a sales rep for CBS / Sony or WEA. Although I tried, thank goodness I never got either one!

I actually still have a 4-track player and some tapes that I got from my uncle. It is the predecessor of the 8-track.

Van Morrison and Joey DeFrancesco - You’re Driving Me Crazy

Jazz Van. Good album, excellent musicianship...but not one that I’ll be listening to too often.

NP! You asked.

2112 gets the dust knocked off of it by Primus and special guests like Wolfmother. In its entirety.

Listening to a different band now.

Palama, are there any live performances recorded of the Beatles? Would love to see something in 1080 or 4k

Not sure what the resolutions are but here’s a quick list:

http://www.beatlesondvd.com/home/dvd-beatles.htm

I’m sure you can find them on Amazon or eBay.

Another one with live footage is the movie “Let It Be” but afaik, it is l-o-n-g out-of-print and was out only on VHS and laser disc. Bootlegs of the movie are out there but I’m sure the resolution won’t be close to what you’re looking for.
