Been a rough couple nights but someone was cutting onions in the room with me this morning.

Been taking care of a former coworker who suffered multiple cardiac arrests and exhaustive resuscitation. 99% of the time these cases do not end well. But everything, every minute of downtime, every step of the process it was all perfectly executed for optimal chance at that 1%. I have never seen a more perfectly executed effort in the same circumstances. Even in ideal conditions, this one is in the top 10. This is jackpot level luck.

This morning before I left, they were able to reliably nod yes/no and move all 4 extremities to verbal command. Still a very long road ahead, but we cleared a major hurdle. There will be more obstacles to come, but the big "if" has passed. There are several more big ones tho...

I'm overjoyed this morning. Small step and may be getting too excited considering the big picture, but so far they're still a player for that 1%.

it's why you do this.
very nice.

Loads of canned spam in the feeds today. Perhaps I should give my cousin a call, he works with the Cyber crimes division.

Went to a park that said it would reopen Fall of 2019 on their website. Still closed. Maybe the Commie 13 should investigate. I hear there is a commemorative Lenin tree there honoring the revolution.

Didn't get up until 8am... had coffee... sat in the recliner for hours dozing in and out... ate leftover spaghetti... took a shower and put on fresh PJ's.

One helluva Saturday!

Why would you ruin a good weekend of doing nothing? I am not getting out of my pj's (unless I must go somewhere).

Yesterday was ups and downs. Great Mushroom & Swiss burger with wife in a one horse town 20 minutes away. Went up to God's Country to check in on the reported flood warning for the river. Still frozen solid other than some puddling along the banks. Property in good shape. Chocolate Brownie Cheese cake and coffee for dessert.

Great day until, on the way home we got the call that my son ran a stop sign and t-boned a woman and her son. The woman driving was in some pain but talking. She declined medical transportation. Her kid didn't away a word- probably in shock.

If he's driving 1 mph, he hits her right in the driver's side door and its Game Over.

Blessed.

Hard to determine. He hit the vehicle directly on the rear wheel, driver's side. Structurally it doesn't look too bad. Its determining if there is damage to the wheel, knocked out of alignment or frame damage. His front end is smashed up pretty good. Airbags did not go off (not sure how I feel about that). No fluids spilled.

Yes Shawn he was fully shaken. The most traumatic thing he has been through as far as I know.

Thanks for the well wishes, Ram,

Indeed... that would have been my first thought, too... "Awww, sh*t... dad's gonna kill me!"

With proper parental conditioning, I think that's always the first thought. Or maybe the second, after "Holy sh*t! I didn't kill myself"

I've got some skirt steak marinating in a citrus/olive oil combo... garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and cayenne.

That'll get grilled later when it's done marinating for a few hours.

my first accident, at 20 years old, I backed into a Porsche 911 Carrera in a restaurant parking lot in Hollywood...crushed his rear bumper, tail-light assembly and rear quarter panel....minimal damage to Dad's car...

owner was very gracious and said that's why we have insurance...Dad not too happy...

My first was going off a 15 mph curve at about 60. Narrowly avoided hitting a silo, tore up the guys lawn, and packed my engine full of sod. Of course I left the scene of the accident. Top speed in the departure about 15 mph.

A few guys at the party did turf removal, bent the engine fan back into place. An hour later I was back on the road.

Mine was backing a 75 Buick Apollo into a shiny new Mercury Sable owned by my basketball coach. He'd bought it two nights before. My legs still hurt from the running

My scariest was hitting black ice and ending up "driving" sideways down the road with oncoming traffic. Remembered that slamming on the brakes would put you in a ditch so that's exactly what I did

I didn't get in any wrecks as a kid, that I recall... I left home less than 2 years after I got my license and didn't return the the USA until I was 21.

First wreck... sitting at a stop light and some d1ckbag illegal in an old pickup hit me and pushed my car into the one in front of me. Then he promptly hit the gas and fled for the border.

My first was following (too closely) the guy in front as he made a left hand turn at an intersection. He stopped quickly when a pedestrian entered the crosswalk and I didn't. Busted radiator and busted sixteen year old.

Many more after that but that was the last time it was my fault. No, really!

I’ve never had an accident with another car. Hit a few ditches when I was young, and a guardrail a few years ago in a tornado...

Small world, my Dad had a 2-door '73 Apollo. I crashed it in '74 or '75, trying to show off. Car was fixed but my Dad was not very happy with me.

Your mistake was using an Apollo to show off. Think I was able to do 0-60 in about 15-20secs. Only thing it was good for was eating gas. Which is ironic since I believe Buick released he Apollo as a "compact" for better gas mileage

1974 Buick Riviera Classic... with the 454. I had to buy my mom tires, but I never wrecked it.
