That's funny! I mean, you're the one that keeps spewing crap out of an endless pit at 7x the speed of light.

What shall we call your book?

Trump the Messiah?

How I sold my soul to Rhetoric?

My brain, my enemy?

Or maybe a torrid tell all..

My Three Year Secret Love Affair with that Thing Living on Trump's Head.

I could go on and on Endlessly, like time at the edge of a Black Hole.

I thought this thread was about ME? I could really use the attention..... I'm usually pretty quiet and unassuming. I'd like to get to know a few of you, maybe a few of you get to know me,

Hi StePHen,

first time/long time.

Can you tell us a little about the book without spoiling the ending?

CB, it is sooooooo much more fun to be goofing on FGM. But if you must get some attention how about this book title? " Bombing mailboxes, it's just what I do. " or " Plato's Republic, heck no, duck, duck, IZON. " or " I don't need Dantes Inferno, I brought my own matches " I could go on an on, but it would be cruel to mention more than 2 books to you in one post. It would just be too cruel to mention, To Kill a Mockingbird, or Cather in the Rye. Ooops.

BTW, quantum gravity. Was Neil's Bohr right, or Albert Einstein? In other words is the cat alive and dead, or dead or alive?

Sigh... Cya's in... Let's see, I'm already in the middle of re-reading Dante's Inferno plus, I have 3 others going. Add the 3 others you just mentioned... plus I gotta chase Izon around in a circle and catch him... Two weeks?

Man did you pick the right avatar.... You and Bill... just wrong on so many levels and yet... there's just something about you. It's in the eye's.

Thank you I really appreciate that. Catcher in the Rye though... When you read it as a young kid Holden Caulfield is cool and you love him. Re-reading as an adult and he turns into a whiny brat. I wanna choke him just a bit. Just so he gets the message.,.. or is that just me?

I leave you all with this in light of the pandemic

Invictus

BY WILLIAM ERNEST HENLEY

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

Dunno how I missed this. Einstein HATED the idea of Quantum Physic's. He called Quantum Entanglement (2 particles sharing the same state or information no matter the distance.. even opposite sides of the Universe) Spooky action at a distance. Niels Bohr is considered one of the Fathers of Quantum Theory along with Max Planck. The Bohr model of an atom was used as the basis for the Manhattan Project although he had a lot of help along the way.

His model of an atom is what most people picture in their head when they think of an atom.... it's not what an atom really looks like but, it's a thought experiment that made atomic structures easy to understand. It's called the lie-to-children concept in education. Taking a complex idea and simplifying it down to what is basically a lie. But, the lie is used to build upon to get to the truth of the difficult to understand concept. The higher you get in your education, the more the lie is discarded and the truth is taught. These lies-to-children idea's are used often in the stem fields. It's used to teach the basic's of Evolution, Biology, Physics, etc. They are considered a necessary part of educating kids (and adults) and are everywhere.

Edit: Oh Einstein gets the credit for our understanding of gravity. Before Einstein, people generally went with Newton's idea that Gravity was a force. Einstein came along and showed that gravity was not a force but a distortion of the fabric of space/time. In Quantum Theory the idea of the Graviton, an elementary particle responsible for gravity has been hypothesized but has yet to be proven. The math doesn't add up with Relativity. Some say the Higgs Boson could be the Graviton since the Higg's Boson imparts mass to some particles. But, that doesn't hold much water since the Higgs field only accounts for about 2% of the mass in the Universe. Explaining Gravity is one of the HUGE hurdles in unifying Standard Physics with Quantum Physics. If you can do that feel free to drop by and pick up your Nobel at your leisure.

Are you talking about Material sciences here? Where conventional resistors lose heat but the new synthetic LFR's don't? I don't really do electronics except at the most basic level. I prefer the theoretical side of quantum mechanics, particle physics and astrophysics mainly. Light, space and time is where the juice is at for me. I know it has something to do with controlling the waveforms so that the the normally lost energy(through heat) is captured by a capacitor or battery without the heat loss and is then passed on through the system. I've only briefly heard it talked about in regards to high powered lasers. Although now you have me wondering if the LIGO detectors use this tech. Gravity waves! Space/Time expanding and contracting! Surf's up!

Oh I know his work.

The saying "They stand on the shoulders of giants." refers to all these people the average person has never heard of.

John von Neumann
Carl Gauss
Bertrand Russell
Richard Feynman
Ptolemy
Laplace

the list is endless....
