Not sure where you are pulling your data from, but all I have to go by are my actual purchasing experiences with the FreeFall system. I generally spend upwards of 15-20 minutes watching the price cycle and determining the bottom before I get ready to make the purchase. Every 10-20 cycles, there will often be one cycle that drops considerably lower before the price resets (Pre-Reset) than all the previous cycles average bottom price. This is what I wait for and when I make the purchase. While this technique does take an investment of time, it has served me very well up to now, so I have no plans to stop saving the additional $$ off my FreeFall purchases.

Here are a few examples of recent "Garbage" that I purchased on CB using FreeFall.

1) Perdomo 20th Anniversary Maduro Epicure (Toro) (6.0"x56) Box of 24 - Retail: $228.00 - Average Pre-Reset: $139.00 - My Actual Purchase Price: $127.42 x 2 (Took just under 20 cycles to hit that lowest number)

2) Oliva Serie 'V' Lancero (Lancero/Panatela) (7.0"x38) Box of 36 - Retail: $300.00 - Average Pre-Reset: $161.xx - My Actual Purchase Price: $151.91

3) Punch Gran Puro Nicaragua Robusto (4.9"x48) Pack of 10 - Retail: $59.90 - Average Pre-Reset: $32.xx - My Actual Purchase Price: $25.94 x 2

Maybe you should spend a little more time watching the deal before spending more $$ than you actually need to. Herfing

King's trying to help you.

No, Goose is right.....I misread his OP.
The difference between the lowest reset, and a typical, or higher end reset is in the 10-15% range.

I interpreted this erroneously as the lowest reset was 10-15% lower than any other reset.........as in..........there was one magical extra low reset that appears every 20 minutes or so.

Actually, that would be a cool marketing gimmick cbid could employ.
Call it FreeFall Friday.
Once per hour, every item on FF falls and additional 15% below the lowest reset, from say............. 6 to 10pm EST

Speaking of marketing
The mods should give us a platinum membership or a discount code - commie 13 works for me.

^#8 Dg is not on The Commie 13 list though his suggestion is gold errrrrrr.. platinum.

So Goose7 you save around 10 bucks for staring at a screen with a ticker on it for around 20min? I think I'll just pay the extra.

This one got out of control quickly. The quick buy was $59.99! Winning bid was up to $80 but in checking back tonight, looks like the final was $77. This is $69.99 on CI!?

I think some people may be paying a bit more lately since a lot of the b&m's are closing? Unsure

I think I smoked every one of those Gurks during my Gurkfests - didn't bid on that lot. I suppose I could have gone as high as $20 if I did

I see someone (?? Of Vassar) has bid on 6 My Father 1922 Bijou churchill's for $30 a piece. They had to think they were bidding on 5 packs. That equates to $690 a box. Crazy!!!

Sigh...

Yah......but not too smaht.
If he just bids on say, 10 fivers, maybe he gets em $15/ea........do that a couple times.

Then again, maybe he lights em with $20 bills....

Either a clear case of getting fooled by the picture and not reading the description or people that REALLY wanted them (...’cause losing is a sign of weakness!...).

The Straight Jacket is a good $2 cigar. I have 17 of them left and have never paid more than $2. But then again, the entire auction has gone insane. There are about a dozen of my favorites that I was winning for a dollar at will, a few months ago. I was winning so many of them that I had to stop bidding. Today, those exact same cigars are closing at $4 to $5 and more. I'm done bidding until the madness ceases.

Me too. There is no point to bidding on 500 auctions and winning one or two you can do without.

Back in the day, FF was the best way to buy the Jaime Garcia Robusto.
Currently there are a handful of deals on FF, which are are quite good, and when compared to the bidding going on recently? It’s an outstanding option.
I’ve named one in another thread....SPC PP.

The others?
Not talking

You can easily tell by the fact that 50 to over 100 people are buying....

Totally agree. Normally I can get better prices in the auctions than the lowest freefall numbers, but with the current state of overbidding, I am finding that I can buy on freefall for less than the overbidders are driving prices up to and the availability is there. I might lose three auctions in a row trying to bid on a particular smoke because there is a frenzy for the three or four 5-packs available, but there are a bunch on freefall for less than the auctions are ending at.

What gets me about overbidding is people paying above retail on sticks and accessories . I bid on boveda packs at retail price and im getting over bid on them.
i can buy them on amazon for 4 bucks each with free shipping.
So amazon it is and 8 bucks cheaper than these fools paid.
Congrats on the big win

It’s only been 4 months, not 4 years.

The more appropriate person would be Tony “Bag o’ Questions” G. Whistle
