Before bidding, do folks check prevailing prices?

I haven't posted here in years, so please forgive me if this post is redundant to what others have posted in the past. I'd been looking to purchase a particular box of cigars. I saw it for sale at another site, which is a member of the Cigars International/Cigar Bid family. The price is well under MSRP, but to assuage my curiosity, before I purchased the box, I stopped by at CBid to see if I could buy the cigars for a lesser price. I was absolutely stunned to see that the bidding had exceeded the price at the other CBid family of vendor sites by over 34%.

How many stogie lovin Barb's can there be?
Either way, search "overbid" and you'll find a couple posts that may educate and entertain.
Loosing a bid is a sign of weakness Barb

Intelligent folks will compare to current prices/sales. Not everyone has figured out that little auction hack though

Rickamaven? That's a name I've not heard nor seen in many years. Certainly, he must be close to 90 years old. Years ago, perhaps more than I care to remember, there was a slippery little twit, Steve Row or roll bottom, who used to oversee this forum. Is he still around?

Haven't seen Steve R in a long time. I think he got taken out by the current minotaurs.

Sorry to hear of Rick's passing. Was his wife's name Toby. Pleased to hear Steve R. is gone. Many years ago, when Rocky Patel's Old World Reserve was first released, it was almost impossible to purchase outside a B & M. My significant other had done business with a small cigar shop in the East for years, called and asked if they had inventory. They did and he purchased a box at MSRP and had it sent to him. He wrote a review in this forum. Steve R. asked where He'd acquired the OWR. because he wanted to buy a box, himself. My S.O. shared the name of the small cigar shop. We heard from the owner a few days later. CI/CBid had complained to RP Cigars that this little shop was selling under MSRP via the internet and RP closed his account.
