I would at least take the bows and the ribbons off. If you leave the wrapping paper on, you can give aged cigars for Christmas next year, LOL.

Welcome,

Barry

Try this:
Take the cello off every other cigar in the box. Take careful notes as you smoke them and give us all a report when finished.

Steve - I still haven't found my Duncan Imperial Yo-Yo.

Newbie - the advice on using the search function here is good advice indeed -- while you are searching for cello on vs cello off - take a moment to look up "building a collerdor" -- I bet that will become a project in your near future.

Some cigars are more modest than others. The especially modest ones are wrapped in tissue and should only be smoked in the dark.

I don't even break open all the bundles before they go into the coolerdor. (I will eventually, I'm a newbie and but right now I have more bundles than empty cigar boxes to put them into.) The cello may slow aging a bit, but it's actually fairly porous and will let both air and moisture (water vapor) pass through.

If you like your cigars totally nude, that's fine; just don't handle them any more than absolutely necessary. I generally just leave them the way I get them; I don't take cello off wrapped cigars, I don't put it on cigars that don't already have it. Check with me in a couple of years and maybe I can tell you if I notice any difference in the way the cigars age.

Thanks all, I can see that I am going to have fun asking dumb questions, but thats the only way to learn. JonR, I am typing this with my clothes off and it didnt take me long to see I must now try smoking with no clothes, thanks for your time lgbpete

Yo lgbpete: The only dumb question is the one you don't ask. OBTW while smoking nude be very careful with your ashes especially while smoking in the sitting position, LOL JonR

I say keep them as you buy them, but for aging take off cellophane, most of the time your going to just smoke them right away, I hope you dont loose sleep over this.

Steve S, comparisons are odorous. Yo Ma has the good fortune to live in an age of superior recording technology.

My Ma, on the other hand . . .

If we consider a Cello a "bass" then I would say Victor Wooten is the best ;)

No Penguin. Oteil Burbridge!

I saw Victor and his band and I thought they sucked! Sure he can play bass, but the music they played was for the most part awful.

Both great players but the best alive is Anthony Jackson.

Of course all time no one touches Jaco or James Jamerson on the electric.
