So Dr Faucci says there is no guarantee.

About a month month and 1/2 ago I stated there may not be a COVID 19 vaccine. Today Faucci stated there is no guarantee there will be a safe and effective COVID 19 vaccine. I am estimating my statements time frame and paraphrasing as well. Bucky this is where you snarkily contradict me, I call you out, and you never respond.

I make no points other than these. This isn't close to over. Understand what the whole world is up against. Take the politics out of this. Disease and death know no politics. Be prepared for you and your families.

Right now the majority of the deaths have been to those severely ill. The longer this goes the lower the death rate will be, maybe. My main worry is the autoimmune aspect of this. What long term damage is that causing? No one knows. How many more will become severely ill due to autoimmune issues? No one knows.

Finally, this is a trial run that the world has failed miserably at. If this was as deadly as the black plague. 50% of us would be dead at a minimum. Probably far more with a globalised world.

I don't recall exactly what snarkily contradiction I made. I'm sure there are many and I can't be held liable to catalog them.

If it was that I believed there would be a vaccine breakthrough soon, than that was purely a sarcastic comment. I never have or don't think there ever will be a cure for this thing. We don't even have a cure for something as "simple" as the common cold or the typical flu. This thing is here to stay. We might come up with something like we do for the flu to protect against it but never a cure to eradicate it off the face of the earth (or the spherical surface of the earth for you ball earthers)

I do believe that if humans ever go extinct, it won't be from our own undoing like a nuclear holocaust or destruction of the ecosystem. I think were smarter than that and can adapt to change or live within that.

I think it will either be by an "act of God" (like and asteroid strike) or a virus or bacteria that we can't deal with fast enough. Them things have been around here way longer than anything else and have adapted, mutated, and survived way harsher stuff than any other living things that we know of. We've just been able to figure out how to keep it under control so far with modern sanitation and medical advances.

Nah, it's a pretender. But if we are really lucky some Darwinian events will occur. In phase 1 we weeded out the very sick to a certain percentage. Though the percentage will be less we are now moving into phase 2 and will weed out some of the very stupid. One can only hope.
