Other than researching until you’re satisfied with an answer, I kinda follow these presumptions:
1. Anything 4” and shorter is short filler unless they claim long filler
2. Anything 4-1/2” and longer is long filler unless they admit to using short
Of course if you have any suspicions that the manufacturer’s claims are false, you could cut one open and check for yourself. One less cigar but at least you’ll have satisfied a burning (...pun intended...) question.
