Great customer service. Eventually. Maybe. Hopefully.

No fault of Cbid, but the UPS to USPS hand-off got messed up on an order of mine (Camacho America Barrel Aged, mmmmm good). Bizarre tracking info and the package is now marked as return to shipper, but it is in route back to cbid via some forwarding instructions you can't figure out

Called customer service first thing this am and on hold 64 minutes before human picks up! Well the CR was as confused as I was with what happened since the shipping address is the one that I have used with Cbid for years and, even during the virus situation, I have been getting packages at that address -- including cigars from other companies.

Well the CR offered to just refund my money but I wanted the smokes if they had them in stock -- just not the ones that have been on that truck for several weeks now. She said she is going to send out a fresh batch of what I ordered. She was very nice and helpful, I just wish they would get more people answering the phones!!!!

NOTE: Did a search and USPS's tracking system has been a mess recently and it is often down totally, so you can't really rely on it.

I live about an hour from CI's warehouse they ship from. I always get everything I order (before mid-afternoon) the next day.

That is, except for one time when UPS made an epic screw-up and sent my cigars from CI's warehouse to Seattle Washington, then slowly back to me. This took something like 2 total weeks. The cigars were delicious and in fine shape, though, somehow!

Fun times.

They keep their stuff over humidified for my tastes, plus if it’s a box wouldn’t it be plastic wrapped?

Same. Even the stuff that's gotten lost in the mail a while has still needed several months rest.

Been a long time since I've bought anything here, but can't imagine anything's changed.

The cigars shipped May 7th and they are still bouncing around the country and still not sure when they will show up back at cbid! So I will take a new batch.

Same here. Going on six weeks. Nobody knows where the box is after filing a claim. $300 worth of sticks is being enjoyed by somebody out there!

To Cbids credit, they are sending the replacements even though don't have the original order back yet. Crossing my fingers!

Which method were you able to get ahold of them?

Well, I hate to say it, but I posted the OP too soon.

Now I, as many others, have gotten tired of the 1st time posters complaining about Cbid CS and not bothering to even look on the first page to see the other threads about the same thing - let alone do a search, but since I did post this mostly positive review above that some folks might have read and relied on, I felt I needed to update it given the circumstances.

Anyhoo.... As noted in the OP, I was told a replacement batch would be shipped out. That batch has been showing up in my account as in "processing" since May 26th. I have talked to CS three times on this issue. I have always gotten through -- although the last time I was on hold for over 2 hours.

Each time I have talked to them since May 26th (when I was told the replacement order would be shipped right away) I have been told the same thing: that the replacement order will be shipped as soon as the original order is received back at Cbid. Each time I direct the CS rep to the USPS website that shows that the order WAS, in fact, returned to Cbid a long time ago. Each time that has happened, the CS rep says that the replacement order would go out the next day. Never happened.

I also put in a customer service request/complaint on the Cbid website and updated it several times. There was never any response but now the issue/thread on their site says "closed" as if it was resolved when, in fact, there was never even a response to the complaint. I even messaged the ladies who, while they always responded in the past, never returned my message.

So, I did what I was hoping I would not have to do and called the bank to dispute the credit card charge. THAT process can - according to the bank - take up to 120 days.

Wonder if doing this will, somehow, "blacklist" me from ordering again on Cbid in the future? Not that I will be ordering right now. I wasn't planning on doing that until they seem to have gotten their CS act together again, but still.... :(

My last 3 calls have been an hour:47 and 2 just short of 2 hours. While speaking yesterday, i found out that that rep was working from home. Phone connection was bad and internet service wasn't great. Its very likely that the whole CS team is working remotely from home and could very well be the reason for the current state of CS. Forwarded calls and info from the base probably have things running like dial up in a gig world right now

Another funny thing is, although I know they use the same warehouse, my orders from CI have come through quickly with no problems to the correct address.

I did have one issue with CI recently in that one of my orders on the "$20 CI Bucks Deal" came without the gift card. I called CI customer service (a little over an hour on hold) and the CI rep simply gave me a $20 discount code to use. That code is actually better than the card as it is good for 1 year while the cards expire in December.
