Spey. What a guy.
Still remember him bright eyed and bushy tailed
You could see the excitement in his eyes
When he showed up at my door
Bearing bottles of fine whiskey
And on a Monday morning yet
Talking, drinking, laughing
Sharing thoughts, ideas, experiences
Sharing a brotherhood
The time just flew by
Seems we could have gone all day
But I had to set him free
Reality and work beckoned
If I had one thing to change in my life
To have the power to change history
To go back and alter the course of fate
It would be to not have let him go
It would be to never have let him go...
Of course that would have required restraints
And he'd be confined to a cage in the basement
And I would have to bring him food
And he would be covered in excrement
Because I am not good at cleaning after others
And I'd have to eliminate all evidence of his presence
And I'd have to dump his car off miles away
And erase record on his GPS
And divert any possible attention
It' not like I haven't done it before
Can't even count the times
But this one would be special
So very very special
It would all be worth it
To see his sheepish grin
Probably toothless at this point
And that gleam in his eyes
Mostly tears I suppose
But it would all be worth it
Had I done that
It would all be worth it...
