Didn't go there for chick hunting. That type of scenery was best seen on campus. Spent many of hours "studying" at the Memorial Union. The Terrace would be a nice place to hang out this time of year.

On a similar note: tentatively planning a trip back home for a week or so this fall sometime (Sept?). Gonna deliver a package to my brother: his mother-in-law. She usually goes there for a visit and stays for about a month. She's up there in age and partially blind so I'll be babysitting her thought the airports and stuff. I'll be splitting time between my brother's place in Waupun and the folks in DePerre. Nothing set in stone yet but I'll let you know as the time gets closer.

Eagle wi.... see any chicks? ... (sigh). Never mind.

Cool on septemberish. Do let me know.

Seem to have adapted to the altitude with no real issues. The woman doesn't like it because she feels exhausted all the time. I tried to tell her she should probably exercise more at home... She didn't think that my opinion she should exercise more than every day was great advice. Ah well.

Food is good here tho.

Similar discussion here last week... I feel fat, I feel gross.... well, I guess there are two options.

1- Get more exercise and feel better.
2- Just talk about it and get fatter.

She chose Option 3, get mad at me.

Tow truck guy said he'd give it a shot. IF he can winch it up in one shot he'll tow it down to my parents place for $100.

He initially said no, but then asked if I was the guy down the street from him and I said yeah. He said get the bucket off the ground and he'll give it a try.

Would definitely be easier than my other option which is to tow a skid loader home from father in law's shop an hour away, use that to push the tractor onto the skid loader trailer, take tractor down to my parents and chain it to a tree, driving the trailer out from under it, then drive trailer back home to pick up skid loader to tow back to my parents to push the tractor where my dad wants it. That's a good 4 hour process. If he can winch it onto the flat bed and drop it in their driveway that's much better.

Option 3 costs me $4-500 buying and mounting a 12klb winch on my flatbed. Something I've wanted for a long time, but something I would have used exactly 3x in the 15 years I've had that trailer and I'm sure I would've neglected it and let it rot by now anyhow

What's up folks? Gotta drop off a piece of broken jewelry for repairs for my wife, then on to a Costco run. Nothing else planned for today. Maybe spray Round-Up on some weeds on the driveway and around the pool screen. Gonna be hot and humid again here in Orlando at 94F with a 50% chance of afternoon thunderstorms- a typical summer day here.

I’m thinkin’ that Corey’s thinkin’ you seem like a fella that likes to interact with people. I mean, based upon your sometimes l-o-n-g posts as well as your conversational skills on the VHerfs, you’re the perfect person to help “challenged” nOObs. No? Think

After my post, I waited to the 1 hour mark and called him. He said he got called by police to an accident and had to do that tow but was on his way to me. Showed up about 5 minutes after that.

Was a pretty sketchy tow, couldn't get the weight far enough forward on his flatbed, so most of the weight was behind the rear axle leaving his front end a bit floaty. We did 25mph on the way down to my parents and got it dropped without major issue. Definitely a job that was worth paying for.

Helped my dad tow it into its likely permanent resting space and then helped with a few small chores before coming home. Weedwhacked the ditch, trimmed the whole yard and edged the driveway/walkways. Sprayed roundup around all the landscaping and around the trees, then mowed the lawn. Sprinkled a little more seed and put three sprinklers out.

Dad called asking for help with a gas line issue, so drove back down there and got it sorta sorted. Not fixed, but got the parts list and will finish tomorrow - it's on the camper so not an immediate need. Stopped at tractor supply on my way back north and picked up another sack of grass seed. I'm gonna need a few yards of dirt to level the yard over the new septic runs. Probably get that next week, kinda tight on time for tomorrow already.

So I went to this crepes on main place that a couple people recommended...
Meh...

Don't get me wrong, the crepe was very properly made and tasty. But I went when the line was at the shortest we had seen, and it still too 50min from getting in line to eating crepes.

Good crepes, but not 50 min waiting good.

Should have went to their second location a few blocks off Main Street - 309 S. Ridge St. Alley. It's were the locals go. Hardly any wait. The location on Main Street is a tourist trap.

Check out the Blue Moose for breakfast - 540 S Main St. Eggcellent Eggs Benedict.

Check out the Best of the Boat Magazine for the best locals choices. I doubt you will find any on newsstands or laying around.
