I want me a revolver for me and the wife for home security. Semi automatics are not a good option when in a stressed situation. I have one on each side of the bed a revolver I think would be a better choice. Thoughts are sure welcome and what you would buy.

Thought about moving next to you. I know you would keep me straight and I would not have worry about home invasion . Because they know what you are packing.

The Python is a classic and smooth as butter. You might want to try some smoother drips, Hogue has some great offerings in wood and rubber. Python grips have a raised checkering the acts like a file when firing .357 ammunition. I've got the target model in .38 Special only, but I had a standard six inch barrel in .357 Magnum. It was a tough on the hand with 158 grain .357 loads and it is the one pistol I regret selling.

I carried it in a fanny pack. It worked pretty well. We were meeting friends for lunch and I wanted to show it to my buddy. I normally carry a Kimber 9mm Micro, or a 32 Seacamp (Back pocket walet, or my KelTec 22mag MPR. On holiday's I carry a 1911 to mom's.

I adore the look of these stock grips...... so sexy, but I agree with you, if I spent time shooting it, it isn't an ideal design. I think I might google some options and see if anything pops. Pun intended.

If you like the originals look, you might try what I did. I found an old beat up set of oil soaked Python grips at a gun show. I leached out the oil, ground off the checkering then refinished them.

+1

Every time you pull the trigger it goes boom. Not so much with semi autos.

That looks like a lot of pistol to conceal carry. fog

Also, I doubt it comes in pink. Sarcasm

Modern semi autos of reputable manufacturer go bang every time also.

For someone that just carries and never trains for real life situations I'd recommend a wheel gun in 38,maybe 357 for bigger folks that can handle the added recoil. For the person willing to train under stressful situations I'd recommend a semi-auto..........I've literally seen every make and model semi-auto,regardless of price, stovepipe, experience ramp failure so on and so forth.Usually this is an ammo issue but must be dealt with just the same to get ammo feed.

I love my little S&W 642 just for this reason, small, light, perfect back pocket gun,up close and personal it's a beast and it always goes boom

I also love my little Glock 26 and it holds 5 extra rounds

Out of probably 7k rounds I’ve had exactly one round stovepipe in my H&K and I can clear much quicker than a revolver can reload.

Wheel guns are good for old people, people with wear hands, and people not familiar with firearms.

They are fun to shoot, I like hunting with a .41mag as well.

Man those new Colts are pretty.

I immediately regretted selling off my old ones. Almost never shot em, but I liked having em...

The father of a dear friend and who was my assistant manager at one of my boot stores in the early 90's scrimshawed it for me. Has a rattle snake. His name was Robert Carrera. (sp?) Super nice family. I think they have all passed except the mother. Great people. Thank you for asking.

You wear a loose shirt and put it in a Galco leather belt holster. Or, consider wearing a sports coat. You do NOT have to carry only the tiny micro-guns. With proper planning and clothing we can all carry big boy guns.

This,

but I swapped out the Hogue Monogrip for these (the backstrap bump on the Monogrip bugs my hand)
https://shopruger.com/Rubber-Grips-with-Rosewood-Inserts-Compact/productinfo/70084/

Looks like this now

They are solid, decent price, and if you are just a little bit handy, you can clean up the action and other bits if you got a "rough" one. I got lucky with mine, with the exception of my hammer dog gap, which I might shim up someday.

Some people swap out springs, etc......meh......just shoot it, stone out any imperfections, and have a revolver that will last a looooong time.
