I absolutely second that. My law professor met him once and said he was the kindest, most interesting person she'd ever met.

one of the products of his early efforts, the Voting Rights Act, is being gutted two generations after its passage...we keep taking steps backward as we try to move forward...

When will they stop parading his body and bury him? I wonder what he'd think of this.

That was my first thought... when I die, I'm pretty sure they're just gonna put me right in the hole... but if any of you catches them driving my body across bridges or putting my body on display for strangers to gawk at, I give each and every one of you permission to end that nonsense immediately, by any means necessary...

I'm pretty sure being a Burger King Manager doesn't get you "lying in state". Maybe they'l turn him into some nuggets and fry him up.

Or flame broil him.

blow me macs,

I like it... it's like a casual "salutations" or "sincerely yours"...

It's a nice sign-off.

But it's a bit more like "thank you, come again!"

I heard the DOJ shouldn't put his name in his mouth.

Fun fact:
Congressman Cedric Richmond, the one who wants to tell AG Barr what words he can and can't have in his mouth, repeatedly said the word "systematic" in reference to what has become acceptably recognized as "systemic" racism.

But if you didn't hear/see it live or on video, and if you only read the transcript from a CNN source, then you'd have believed that Congressman Richmond got it right. Because they even use quotations while typing "systemic". When that's not what he said.

Sure, it's a subtle difference. But it's one that CNN obviously knows.
But Congressman Richmond does not.

He took offense to AG Barr invoking the name of John Lewis.
If we need a new John Lewis thread to discuss who can or can not say the name "John Lewis", please let me know.
