Friday night, Maker's Mark and a Jura "Heavily Peated" Signatory Vintage from the youngest daughter's birth year (distilled 1989 bottled 2014, matured in a bourbon barrel only 141 bottles ever produced)

Saturday night! What can I say, one of a kind experience! Pure Rye from a 1913 bottling of Melvale Distillery in Maryland!!!! (One of the premium Rye's from pre-prohibition!)
Old Forester Decanter "string barrel" bottled fall 1965
Noah's Mill from a 2014 bottling (My gift to the Whiskey House along with 3 others, including an Orphan Barrel Barterhouse, Elmer T. Lee and Weller Antique 107 )
Not a "whiskey" we opened my bottle of a 25 year old Bas Armagnac (Delord Distllers)

We may have sampled another Whiskey, but the experience was so overwhelming I could've overlooked one! With over 2500 bottles in multiple rooms, what can I say. I will soon be a member and left 4 bottles for the "selection".

Certainly was and I plan on making more of those type memories in the future!

I will definitely join the "non profit" group for that place and who knows, I may wind up on the board of directors, hehe.

I really like this stuff but only at MSRP........I'm fortunate to have mostly honest SHPO owners around me in Wichita Falls. However if you ever find yourself in Abilene Texas stay away from H&H Beverage, bastid that owns it has his special little shelf in the back where he keeps the good stuff. You know,HM BIB for $100,ECBP for $150,ETL for $200.Ol Rip for $450.......yea he's a real piece of work.I called him a crooked basturd to his face.He ask why and I asked him do you get these bottles at wholesale.........I never got a reply,he just asked me to leave in which I did stating on the way out I would not be back and I intended to warn as many as possible of his practices.I understand this is his right and morons do line his pockets.........but that does not make it right.

I do like the McKenna at the year ago price of around $35. Since then I have not seen it until recently at $52. Even at $52, I had to pass. As far as the A-hole you mentioned, we have an equal in Pensacola. He is pretty reasonable on the easy to find, but is totally ridiculous on the other end of the spectrum.

Four Roses Specially Selected Barrel Strength, OESV, 115 proof (this is really a great bottle)

Walked into a store yesterday and they were unboxing some Glenlivet boxes I'd never seen before. Asked the guy if he'd tried it and he said this is their 1st shipment of it.

Glenlivet - Caribbean Reserve.

To create whisky with a tropical feel, our makers finished a portion of our smooth whisky in barrels that previously held Caribbean rum. The result is a well balanced and exceptionally smooth whisky. Single malt, meet summer.

Cask - Oak barrel, selectively finished in barrels that previously held Caribbean Rum flavour

Flavor - Bold, smooth, and tropical finish

Finish - Well balanced and exceptionally smooth nose

Nose - Sweet notes of pear and red apple meet a fabulous tropical twist of ripe bananas in syrup
palate

Palate - Rich caramel toffee notes, followed by flavors of tropical fruit

For a hair above 30 bucks I figured I'd try it. It paired well with my Montecristo Nicaraguan yesterday. Would I make it my normal? No. It might really shine as a ham glaze though with Vernor's Ginger Ale.
