I’m off call so I’ve had a chance to relax (no working late) and have a beer or 3....having some issues with people who mean well not knowing when I need space. Nobody here btw.

Trying to decide on renting or buying now I was getting ready to buy but this effected an already sparse market and effects which type of loan I could use. I think the last count on the Alameda Fire was 2,537 homes burned? I’m interested to see how easily owners of older homes are going to have rebuilding with zoning changes. Just a lot of unknowns still.

My bosses house made it through the S Obenchain Fire we just got word yesterday that it’s contained (80%) and he can return AND they actually already got power back. Not a big union fan but damn the Linemen must be working their asses off!

The air quality is still far above hazardous so hopefully we do get rain Friday. We have had low overnight temps which is how the firefighters were able to contain these fires.

I know a guy who’s son is a linemam.

$100 a day for food allowance.
$40 an hour base.
Double time for driving to disaster areas.
Triple time for the work they do in the disaster area.

Worth every penny.

He was in Connecticut the last two week.
Was supposed to head to the Gulf a couple days ago. Maybe they will reroute him West.

Oregon man arrested after starting brush fire with Molotov cocktail accused of setting six more after he was released, police say

(CNN) — An Oregon man was arrested after he admitted to setting a brush fire along a highway, police said, as wildfires burn through large swaths of the West Coast.

Then, they said, he set six more.

Domingo Lopez Jr., 45, was booked Sunday afternoon after witnesses said he set a section of grass along the I-205 freeway on fire with what appears to be a Molotov Cocktail, according to a report by the Portland Police Bureau.

Lopez admitted to lighting the fire, and he was booked on charges of reckless burning and disorderly conduct in the second degree, according to the report.

Barely 12 hours later, on Monday morning around 3 a.m., Lopez was allegedly back at it. He was arrested once again accused of setting six more small fires, all along the same freeway.

"Portland Fire and Rescue extinguished three of them while passing community members put out the other three. All were caught early. No one was injured and no structures were burnt. Officers located Domingo Lopez, Junior walking along the shoulder and arrested him. They seized a lighter as evidence," the report reads.

The news comes as wildfires continue wreaking havoc on the West Coast of the US, consuming more than 1 million acres of land in Oregon alone, Gov. Kate Brown said last week. After weeks of the blazes, dozens of people have gone missing and at least 36 have died across California, Washington and Oregon.

Law enforcement agencies have been flooded with calls since at least Thursday about online rumors that members of Antifa, an anti-fascist, often far-left-wing movement, were arrested for setting fires across the state. But police have said they're false.

"Reports that extremists are setting wildfires in Oregon are untrue," the FBI's Portland field office said in a tweet Friday.

Many have lost their homes as well, and two cities in Oregon, Phoenix and Talent, have been nearly wiped out. All of this has been coupled with worsening air quality levels across the coast.

CNN could not discern whether Lopez had legal representation at this time.

Lopez is set to receive a mental health evaluation, according to the report, and was given citations for six additional counts of reckless burning.

Climate change is a factor, but it’s neither the cause nor the largest (or even close) problem. It contributes to temps and rain, but so do solar flares and our planets rotation.....but it’s only “science and stuff” when it fits the power grab. People outside the west don’t understand how much land the feds “own” and what fire policy is on “federal” land.

The Chetco fire which was close to kingofthecove could have been put out early, but the fire crew who asked for permission to mother may we put it out were denied.

The Biscuit fire should have never happened and the second one was a testament to how productive it is for carbon to leave excess fuel in areas where we let it burn.
